So what if they didn't see the inside of a gaol cell? They're still degenerates and the Roosters aren't above signing blokes with checkered pasts as long as they suit the clubs plans. Michael Jennings is another, bashed and raped his wife. Didn't see the inside of a cell, bloody well should have though. Found liable through a civil suit (and yes I know the burden of proof is lower, but they're not awarding someone half a million because they think he didn't do it.)

So no, the Roosters will be desperate enough to sign degenerate shitheads when it suits them. Yeah, they're not talking about bringing them back to the NRL by playing for the Long Bay Wardens first XIII but just because they didn't see the inside of prison doesn't mean they aren't heinous individuals in their own right.

Anyway, I'd humour them sign Manase if it means hanging on to them, as you say we are that desperate and I agree with that. If he comes back through 3rd or 4th grade and actually looks OK great we have a backup, if not oh well he can go be a brickies labourer or go back to gaol if it so suits him. The NRL might kybosh it all anyway and this is all moot.

I bet Garrick would be our first choice winger as well (if not one of our first choice centres or fullback). Roosters will also have Ramsay and Rex as options.

This is assuming they make no other signings, surely now Tupou is leaving his salary was up to $1m in the cap.

I hope we're clearing the decks for Kurt Donoghoe in 2028 tbh.

May not be a big name but his skill & toughness as a lock would complement Latu & Javon moving forward imo.

Look at the width it creates the Phins when he comes on to play that role and pushes Katoa & Nikorima that bit wider.

He could make our edges lethal not to mention add more starch in defence.

We have three Fainus (possibly four if Manase gets signed) and maybe three Mays in the squad.

If they don't get their way, they'll hold the club to ransom. If they leave, we'll be absolutely screwed.

This is the stupidest recruitment strategy and logic I've ever seen from this club.

Never heard of the Mortimer and Hughes brothers at Canterbury?
Seemed to work pretty good.
