2017 and beyond what are the recruitment & retention plans?

The club must retain the halves, this is an opportunity they (we) have been waiting 10 years for and it's an opportunity that might not come around for another 10 years. These 2 know each other's games so well. They are still improving and learning. Are they going to be greats of the game...

Wests Tigers launch new promotional clip

Just saw a new promotional clip on the website, short but still thought it was terrific. Well done to the club.

    Great Linespeed or off-side?

The referees have a very difficult job so I can understand them missing some things that occur in a game. But there is a very fine line between rushing off the defensive line and being off-side and I think referees aren't penalising enough of those particular incidents where the player "jumps"...

    Great Linespeed or off-side?

In the past week I have heard people commend the defence of Parramatta. Last night I heard Peter Sterling say that Isaac De Gois was the unsung hero because he was leading the side with their linespeed". Yet why is it that some teams can do this better than others? Possession, wrestling and...

    Manaia Cherrington

I agree with those who have mentioned that Manaia's defence is not quite there yet. Might need another good pre-season where he can work on his strength. I think Halatau defends well although he's not an 80 minute player, and he can shift between positions in the forwards. As for Lawrence and...

Wests Tigers v Eels: Five key points

I don't see a great deal of difference between the speed of service provided by Robbie or Manaia. But I do think Manaia is quicker in terms of having a run from dummy half and I think that's what JT was referring to. But for Manaia to be effective in doing that he needs quicker play the balls...

Wests Tigers v Eels: Five key points

I don't think that insulting the fanbase was his intention, just think it didn't come out as he would've liked. All coaches, and players, will say something different to how they actually want to express it at times in a post game media conference. They'll either do that or stick to boring...

We didn't adapt to Parramatta's linespeed because we lost the forward battle

I just think the Eels have improved a hell of a lot now that Scott, who was terrific, and Foran are leading them around through their actions and experience. Also think our halves are missing Sironen and Lawrence, they both run great lines & decoys as well as provide other options to hit with a...

Wests Tigers SC Team Round 4 vs. Bulldogs...

Looks like Jordan Grant is really trying to play some good consistent footy. Apparently strong last week and was the pick of the props when well beaten by the Warriors. He's a big unit who might get a run in the NRL side at some point, especially when injuries hit and/or Woodsy plays Origin. Not...

Jesse Parahi omitted from State Cup Side

Saw him play last week, has a ton of courage and does everything with good intensity. Reckon he will definitely make it at some point to the NRL team but I doubt he's ready for the step just yet. Think he'd need a few more games at least in State Cup. 18th man would seem the go.

Titans search for ways to stop Tedesco

Teddy is just one of many options for the halves and he can make something out of nothing anyway. Henry seems pretty good at preparing his team and no doubt they'll give it a good crack but so will we. Tigers!!!

    When we win tonight

I'm very confident we'll get the points but there's still plenty that could go against us too, injuries, penalties, luck. And no team is unbeatable but do like your confidence Milky.

    Coaching Insider: NRL Round 3..

I thought the fact he said it now. The team are playing with confidence and the coach is just reinforcing the belief, the confidence they have in themselves, that they can beat anyone when they all do their job.

Luke Brooks undecided on future. Admits he could leave Tigers

I apologise for my ignorance but what do those who offer TPA's to players get out of it? I mean can companies offer TPAs and then have the player endorse their products? Seems to me that a guy like Teddy would be perfect for that given his profile is on the rise.

Lawrence set to stay a Tiger for life...

It will also give him the opportunity, should the halves stay, to be part of a steady progression that may just see the club become a real force within that time frame. And for a guy who's only had the good fortune to play in 3 finals games in 10 years that'd be a great reward.

    Four Good players??

They probably only need 1 or 2 players. What's needed now is stability and means keeping the halves, Teddy and 5 or 6 of the young blokes coming through.

Why I I Buchanan in the team?

I think that when Jack is picked he does a very simple job. He's not flash or in the class of Woodsy or Grant but he can fill in if needed and do what is asked of him. As to other options I'm not sure how many minutes you could get out of Edwards especially if he's asked to do a lot of carries...

    Development not recruitment key...

I was just thinking about this today and maybe posting it under a different topic. For the Tigers right now I think stability is the key. They have developed their spine the last few years, and although it's still ongoing they are now showing us some very, very encouraging signs. We have some...

"I've finally found a home here at Wests Tigers" - Kevin Naiqama

Loving what Kevin is doing, great role model for guys hoping to break into 1st grade, work hard and stay positive. And I think the hair is coming back too.
