    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

To be specific, I'm not necessarily questioning Brooks' talent, more his ability to execute on the first grade stage, and I don't think he should be persevered with any longer. He's had his chances and his improved kicking game in the last game doesn't change my perception. 'Distractions and...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That's very funny about the pub team Twentyforty but, also a sad indictment on the shambolic state of the team in the early rounds. The team is definitely beginning to show signs of life but there is still a long way to go regarding getting the attacking structures right. As I keep harping, how...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Brooks has been really good this season?? With respect, are you able to put your man crush aside for one moment and look at the reality of his overall performance? Most on here would agree that he has been really bad in 2023 which is why we're investigating securing a replacement. Having said...

    Congrats Brooks

Ok, let's be clear, the spine is the hooker, halfback five eighth and fullback, right? Also, the halves are half of the spine? And to be clear, you said it's been a shambles, right? And you would agree that Api has been our best or, close to best, player this year and that he's in the spine? You...

Don't know what 'story' you are alluding to or how I changed it but it's absolutely okay to have differing views.

    Fair enough!

    Congrats Brooks

Again, I agree with your summation of the Tigers game pattern and there is a certain 'rinse/ repeat' element to it. Several weeks ago I started a thread called 'Is the Problem the Halves or the Coaching?' and I still think that is a legitimate question. Even though, Brooks and co have floundered...

    Congrats Brooks

Do you know what I'm laughing about? Your term TRUE ability! I'd love to see Luke show this true ability more often. Sorry but your citing of a few isolated instances of creating in the attacking zone does not change my thinking that Brooks simply doesn't measure up as a first grade halfback...

    Your team v dragons

That's not a bad idea at all. He is a solid defender, can play five eighth, if necessary, and has a handy attacking game. I think posters are a bit hard on him. If you watch KOE Cup, you can see he has footwork and ball skill and can make the occasional big hit.

    Your team v dragons

I'd like to see Laurie swapped for Wakeham for the spark he might provide in the halves (apparently he played very well in KOE Cup with two line breaks and two try assists) but I get that we need continuity and a goalkicker. Naden is out so I guess Talau has to come in. This is not exciting at...

    Congrats Brooks

Very well said. Thoroughly agree with all of that and I could go further and say, that on occasions, he has been the major cause for a poor Tigers performance with his indecision, poor passing and ineffective short kicking when the team were in the ascendancy. One strong game does not erase all...

    Congrats Brooks

What, showing his TRUE ability after 8 games behind a quality pack? He did some very good kicks and that's about all. Still not taking control in the opposition quarter which is his job as a halfback with TRUE ability.

    Round 9: 3,2,1

Here's something different - responding to my own post! Sorry, I know people have finished thinking about the 3, 2, 1, but I really had to share my correction of the points. I just read the thread on the game stats and Alex Twal's were, quite simply, enormous! *173 run metres *36 tackles (no...

He actually looked like he cared. I think the recent demotion gave him the kick up the butt he needed. I really noticed him making good defensive decisions, pulling off critical tackles and running with vigour. Both our wingers were excellent getting out of our end.

    Luke Brooks #167

Yes, Luai did play and he was very ordinary. Tried to use his footwork and forced passes in wet conditions. No way he should be Blues Five Eighth. Has to be Hynes.

    Luke Brooks #167

Oh dear. This was what I feared......all the Brooks lovers would come out in force, once he had a half decent game......finally. There is nothing to apologise for. I realise this post was, at least half, meant in humour but, sorry, a few excellent kicks in one game does not change the fact that...

Fantastic, brave win tonight. Well done Tigers!! I'm very happy and, I get the impression that so are a lot of other people, not just Wests supporters!

LIVE GAME Round 9 vs Panthers

Have to agree. Let the kid develop at his own pace. Yes, he shows promise.....after two games! Also, all the gushing over players and overuse of words such as outstanding, superstar, etc, etc is wearing. Do they take us for idiots?
