I thought Pole played his best game this year..
First stint was massive.I thought Pole played his best game this year..
Great game. And I'd add To'a to the list of best game for us.I thought Pole played his best game this year..
Agree with your post.Love the pack, great to see a lot of guys in the backline contribute last night.
Rewatched already, feels good to win.
3. Api - getting into Gareth Ellis levels of love for this blokes football.
2. Stef - seems to be back in form, don't think he was stopped on the first contact often, no glaring errors which had him in front of Klem, just.
1. Can't split Brooks and Twally.
Twal takes a few weeks to get going, but once he is going he stays good if he can stay fit - this is about the 3rd time he has surprised people with his effectiveness because he does seem to come back from injury slower.
Here's something different - responding to my own post!This is the most difficult 3, 2, 1 of the year. So many strong performers but here's my take;
3. Klem - truly outstanding work rate and metreage
2. Bula - hard to leave him out with try assist, excellent taking of bombs and the try saver on Cleary
1. Koroisau - such an influential player, just about our best attacker and makes so many critical tackles
Honourable mentions: Twal (really marching up the field at the moment), Toa (another gutsy and penetrative performance), Pole (busy in attack and defence)
Twal cops plenty of crap from some fans, he tackles well and coach staff are getting him to run more effectively.Here's something different - responding to my own post!
Sorry, I know people have finished thinking about the 3, 2, 1, but I really had to share my correction of the points. I just read the thread on the game stats and Alex Twal's were, quite simply, enormous!
*173 run metres
*36 tackles (no misses)
Outstanding! It wasn't just the metres though, it was the quality of the runs in all parts of the field. He really is undervalued and my suggestion that he starts seems to be vindicated. Twal is a worker in attack and defence who doesn't make mistakes. Stef is bigger and more impactful (usually) so he should be on the bench.
My new points for what it's worth;
3 Twal
2 Klemmer
1 Bula
Honourable mentions; Koroisau, Toa (164 metres, whoa!), Pole
*Sorry but it's my opinion that a few good/ excellent kicks do not earn Brooks points. Better but still nowhere near what we need of a first grade halfback.
I suppose everybody has their own criteria for awarding points.*Sorry but it's my opinion that a few good/ excellent kicks do not earn Brooks points.
Fair enough!I suppose everybody has their own criteria for awarding points.
For me, if Brooks doesn't play on the weekend, we lose the match 8 - 0.
Apart from the two 40/20s which put us in a position to score tries, (one of which he set up himself), we didn't look like scoring.
So, I reckon that's worth points.
