Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

You know the only thing they can investigate is if any wrong doing has happened? The L&G cannot make any legal challenges to the constitution of the leagues club. The Constitution is in the public domain, it's not secretly hidden away and is there for all to see. It's been approved already by...

Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

Let's be real, most people have no idea who the Debenture holders are. Why create disunity between the debenture holders? That's only going to cause more strife at Wests Tigers. You should be asking for harmony. You haven't forced the HBG to commit to anything. They had already ratified the...

Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

Not correct. The 27,000 social members of the HBG can vote for 2 members on the board of HBG (formally known as Western Suburbs Leagues Club Ltd) and the 200 general members can vote for 5 board members from the list of debenture holders (which numbers up to, 20, currently at 16). The there...

60 Pokies if you'd like to be accurate. These are the ones at the Markets Club. There were machines in store from when 5Dock closed, these were old and were sold as part of the debt settlements. HBG did acquire 180 pokie machine entitlements with a balance sheet value of about $2.5m (which...

This has been listed on the Wests Tigers Wiki page ...since the changes in ownership 3 years ago. The previous share ownership has also been listed on the Wests Tigers wiki for the previous 5 years. It's also been listed on the Wests Magpies website.

I'd personally agree with that too. I suspect it would get some support from some on the Magpies side too, but would get some push back. I don't know enough people on the Balmain side of the JV on their board to say it would be supported.

OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Unite: Call to Arms

If the rumours of the recommendations are to be believed, the board of Wests Tigers is supposedly going to be 4 independents, 1 appointed by HBG, 1 appointed by Wests Magpies, and 1 Balmain Tigers I understand HBG need to protect their asset, so having someone on the board I think is expected...

Exactly. That's the problem with made up stories....they generally ignore reality. Batman isn't a documentary on a city in America.

Courts? What courts? This isn't going near a court. If NSW L&G are indeed looking at the club, so long as the club hasn't breached any gaming or liquor regulations, and has complied with the law under Clubs Act, then it has nothing to fear. One reason I chuckled at the Petition... The NSW...

$350k a year from HBG to Balmain since 2019 ...so there is $1.75m And yet the petition is asking for an investigation into the HBG.

In their defence, the system has worked flawlessly. The club board up until the last 6 months has been stable for the last near 70 years. It's allowed the club to grow and build their current premises (I think in the 1980's), then extend and build the car park in the 2010's....and have the...

The mandate is there .... When a club makes a profit, they have to distribute it to the community. It's why clubs are "non for profit". It's not a fixed %, but clubs are mandated to support the community via the Club Grants scheme.

WT Player Recruitment & Retention for 2021

I think we all expect to see Packer released. Unless we can give him a space on a low ball salary for 12 months and use him as an off the bench player... but I would bet my left testicle he wont be in a Wests shirt after the end of this season. MCK - there were rumours he was leaving at the end...

What do we know of this fella Simpkins? We've swapped a 2nd row with a 2nd row. Do we know the relative merits of letting Kane leave and Simpkins to come in?

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's come from Parra. They have a talented roster, but look how they petered out towards the end of the season and how they failed in the finals. Parra seem to be great at recruitment... but Brad Arthur will never lead a team to a Premiership. Perhaps thats what he is hinting at?
