    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As good as To’o is, we’ve already got more than enough outside backs on the books for next year, we should be working on making sure we have a forward pack that can lay a platform for Jerome and Lachlan to work from. We’ve got Papali’i and Utoikamanu to replace.

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seems like he wanted to come in as a halves coach or something last year. https://www.nine.com.au/sport/nrl/the-mole-scott-prince-to-join-benji-marshall-tim-sheens-at-wests-tigers-20220720-p5j0dv.html

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

I did read that the people who are supposed to be appointing the directors have suggested O’Farrell remain as chairperson and 2 of the remaining 3 independent directors are women...

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

Wow, given that one of the independents, James Myatt, listed by cochise on a previous thread, has listed himself as representing Balmain on the Wests Tigers board on his LinkedIn I’m gonna say no. The other independent was Lee Hagipantelis.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

Thanks for the info. I didn’t know that part. In saying that, even if it turns out to be hard to remove them, I feel slightly safer with independent directors coming in than without them. HBG having full control hasn’t exactly gone exceptionally well.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

As someone who grew up following the Magpies, even if a seperation ended in the return of my old team I don’t think I’d be able to go back. At this point I’m something like 40 jerseys deep into supporting the club we’ve built together. There’s full grown adults who have never seen either Balmain...

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

I’d like to believe that happened, but I only ever heard it reported as they were dismissed. And given the chairman had refused to step down before the review, I can only assume he would have been forced to leave after. Also the way he described finding out about it from the Balmain...

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

Admittedly I didn’t know much about how many directors we’ve had in recent years. But we had 2 from Wests & 3 independents at one point in 2015. Obviously at some point a Balmain representative was added back on. I wonder how we went from the independent directors having more votes to what it...

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

From what I remember they were about to renovate the leagues club until the NSW government “acquired” the site for use on the harbour tunnel project, and then never used it.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

The same people who removed the entire board at the end of last year. We’ve had independent directors before, we’re just supposed to be replacing the ones we already removed.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

I don’t know if they ever announced the full recommendations but I think the biggest one atm is the board was reduced to Barry O’Farrell, and a representative from each of HBG, Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs Magpies. And they were supposed to add 4 new independent board members by May but...
