I wonder if a transfer fee is just financial, or would a fee involve a player swap? If financial, how does that work with the cap? Galvin isn't on much anyway but I suppose it could be used to pay for a player from another club to come across immediately
Scratching my head at this rotation. Api is going to play 80 apparently, holding the middle with our amazing Bird, Sukkar and Fainu rotation 🤣 I can hear the reasons now, "he gets a 2-week break after this" 🤔🤔🤔
For once, prove me wrong WT.
It kinda made sense when there was rumours about Blake Lawrie but he never came. Fingers crossed we pull out a win today, get a rest with the bye and add a player who can help in that time.
How's Campbell Graham been going? Seemed a bit quiet up to this point. I think their forwards may have a slight edge. We're playing Bird & Sukkar as two of our significant rotation today and Hunt starting when he's barely played 40 minutes in a game all year.
Was pretty surprised he was even going around this year. He hasn't offered anything for years. Maybe...maybe...for KOE Cup. But if you're expecting him to offer anything on-field in 2025, your club has bigger problems.
Thanks for mentioning this. Salary cap increases to 12.1 mill in 2027 from 11.4mill now. Not as much as I expected. While I suppose there is room for two more of your 350k to 600k players in there, some players are going to get way overpaid with the two new franchises arriving.
You've also said before that Richo isn't going planning to stick around once his contract ends, right? So he wants success quickly. A DCE or Reynolds would be a better chance of doing that than promoting Latu, so there's that reason to recruit them too.
Maybe this is why people are so keen on new signings? To keep our momentum towards next season. I feel like one proven NRL player around his prime would be a step in the right direction. Taylan and KPP don't move me much, too much unproven. Taylan could just be another Jimmy the Jet or Jamal Idris.
So do I. It will be a really interesting watch. Will we come out with intensity? Can we keep them under 20 points? Will our forward pack, already pretty light in depth, cope with missing a player? Will Toa be a passenger or a difference maker?
Haywood should be a while off yet even with a few nice cameos in reserves. TDS is the sort of player who needs to be kept if the club are fair dinkum. I thought he showed some growth in the variety of his attack last Sunday, even if the result was horrible. I think he'll stick around.
That was the definition of soft. No intent to go up the middle, just to go around and no impact in defense. Aimless kicks and passes throughout the match.
Hopefully vlog and interview season slows down after this. There was a lot of talk after an average game against the Dragons and none of it...
I think he's been alright there but I think injuries and bench rotation have exposed him. I think the coaching staff have struggled with their timing of substitutions.
