    Coronavirus Outbreak

My understanding is that EU and USA citizens can travel freely throughout Europe if they have a digital vaccination certificate. If not, they are subject to the quarantine requirements of each of the European nations that they travel to. In Australia you can get a digital vaccination...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

If that's 152,000 tests in a single day, then it's an impressive number: 1 That so many people turned out to be tested 2 That NSW had the capacity to administer that number of tests 3 That it had the capacity to process that number of tests Well done.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

A 9pm curfew has been introduced in Melbourne. The shadow attorney general has put a post on facebook likening the situation in Melbourne to what's happening in Kabul. Really pathetic. No wonder Dan has a record majority.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I think Gladys talks a load of garbage. At press conferences she seems to just say the first thing that pops into her head. When Daniel Andrews was asked about his 5km restriction he answered that it was all about restricting movement. If we could restrict movement to local geographical areas...

    Tommy Talau #225

Talau has been pitched into NRL too early, because we lack depth in the centre/wing positions. I reckon there is still plenty of upside in this young guy. We are already seeing some improvement in his performance and another year may make a big difference. Worth hanging in there at the moment.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I think that part of the problem is that the initial lockdown instructions were vague and full of loopholes. The government unwittingly (I think) sent a message that it wasn't too fussed about its own rules. I can recall Gladys saying very early in the piece that people shouldn't be meeting up...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's not a flyer, but I thought he showed good pace off the mark and over the first ten metres. That's not a bad attribute for a centre.

    Brooks To Hooker In 2022

It's not the worst idea I've heard. Probably worth a go. My main concern is his ability to shoulder the workload in defence. He's a good defender for a man of his size, but the defence workload for hooker is far greater than anything he has had to do to date.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I think that would only galvanise the anti-lockdown "freedom fighters" into action and create widespread havoc. The horse has bolted for Sydney. Possibly for all of NSW. It could have been controlled back when it was in the Eastern Suburbs but the government response was too little, too late and...

Ok. That puts your daughter's comment into perspective. My wife has banished me, my guitars and electric bass to the shed for the duration of our lockdown.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

That's a good description. I heard a commentator down here describe it as being like watching a replay of your football team play in a losing match. (Can you imagine that?). You're still supporting your team but you know that the outcome is inevitable.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

The same thing is happening in Melbourne. The epicentre of this outbreak is the same as it was last time - our North Western suburbs. It's not about denigrating groups within our society, it needs to be more about understanding and addressing the behavioural drivers. Are they cultural? Are they...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Yeah. It would be harsh wouldn't it? But we're likely to end up with the tail wagging the dog here. What frustrates me is that we could have a relatively small percentage of the population simply destroying our economy by their wilful inaction. And by 'economy' I'm not talking about money, I'm...
