Just an update on the Newcastle rugby union semi's. Maitland finished 1st, played M/Carlton finished 2nd, Carlton won 23 - 22. Wanderers finished 3rd, played University finished 4th, Wanderers won 29 - 28. University are now out. M/Carlton go straight to the grand final, Maitland play Wanderers...

Totally agree, has never been given a decent opportunity to prove himself. Just another example that our club has blinkers on!

Yeah-Nah, how long do you have to wait for to get that so called high? We have a salary to spend the same as everyone else plain and simple, the Bulldogs have decided to spend money to make money now and not waiting 5-10 years like we seem to be doing and praying that we have the players coming...

You can't do anything without Culture, every club needs this to progress. In all codes i believe. I was lucky enough to play at a descent level in rugby, and i have to say the best teams i played for always had and promoted the clubs Culture.

Anyone really, would be an upgrade on what we have.

Even the 2nd division comp is very ordinary, not enough players to go around anymore. a lot has changed over the years, and unfortunately not for the better.

Merewether Carlton are very strong still, finished 2nd in first grade this year, have a good chance of going back to back. Only 6 teams now in the comp, very sad indeed. the Wildfires are a team on their own representing the Hunter area.

It cracks me up how everybody is saying how good our Juniors are and our forwards in the flegg side are "hot". they are in 9th spot on the ladder i believe?. It makes me think the 8 teams above must be very special.

The last i heard was the Knights have put another offer in for Sullivan so it’s still up in the air.?
