LIVE GAME Round 9 versus Sharks

    Stonestreet mightve touched that.

    OFFICIAL Jahream Bula #269

Turuva won't excel at FB. He'll do his job defensively and in support play I'm sure, but he hasn't shown any ball playing ability. At this stage, he's nothing more than a fill-in fullback in firsts.

Yes I could've been clearer, but what I mean is I'm inclined to let him go if he's asking for too much because his lack of improvement suggests it's less likely he'll improve enough to a point where the price tag is justified. If instead I thought he were showing consistent signs of improvement...

Yeah off the top of my head I'd have him around 8th or 9th. Bula's better than Kennedy and I'd take him over the corpse of Trbojevic, but Walsh and Ponga are both better and Edwards is too despite the rating. Think you can make an argument for Weekes too.

If you asked me about losing Bula 2-3 years ago when he burst onto the scene, I'd have been very disappointed, but I just don't think he's added to his game a great deal as a fullback. Obviously his speed will always be a strength, but he doesn't quite use it in his running game like a Hammer or...

    OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

Let's say it's $1m per year for 3 years, kicking in from 2028. We'll have him for his 29, 30 and 31 year old seasons. He started in first grade later than most at 22/23 years old so will carry a little less wear on his tyres compared to others. He shouldn't fall off during the contract, and if...

It'd also only 6 months for a season and half the time they'll be on the road in Aus too. It's not a great place to live sure, but it won't be a total disaster either. You can think of it like fifo work really. But fifo playing a sport instead of being in a mine or on a rig.

The Fainus were here before Luai, are Tongan and Maori (not Samoan like Luai) and are extemely close to Benji. I don't think we need to worry about them at all, especially with Sione locked down long-term. Turuva came here because his cousin was our captain more than because Luai came here...

And he's not even that good! The guy deserves all the credit in the world for achieving as much as he has with an ultimately pretty average skillset.

Well, at least this team will be wasting a huge chunk of their cap on an average 5/8th in his 30s.

    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

If we keep the Mays and Fainus we'll be right. The Fainu's loyalty lies with Benji more than Luai. The May's are both grateful for the opportunity Benji gave them and I'm sure they'll want to stay together going forward. Tito would be a loss, but we've got Tavana and Makasini for the wings...

Benji Marshall joined the Tigers from Keebra Park because a 5 year old Luai told him to according to this bloke.

We're not paying an overrated player a ton of money in his 30s? That's the benefit. Other teams seem to do a fine job of recruiting without Luai. We will too.

How does every other team attract players without Luai? As far as I'm aware there aren't 17 of him.

Doueihi is outplaying Luai at 5/8th. The team looked just as good with Madden in the 7. We have Fainu and Andrews, two of the best young halves talents in the game who have represented their state in junior origin. And some people here are crying about us getting out of a contract paying an...

Bula is one thing but Luai leaving would be a great thing for the club.

Hopefully the meeting goes well. We thank him for a few years of good service and helping turn us around, while getting off a terrible contract and he gets to cash out handsomely while being an ambassador for the game's expansion into a new market. Win-win.

I think Bula is fine, but perhaps slightly disappointing compared to what his potential was when he first came into first grade. I don't think he's markedly improved at any area of the game. Underwhelming as a ball player and while he doesn't really stifle our attack around the edges, he doesn't...

    Koroisau Suspended

Would be worth challenging. I think there's a good chance we could get it downgraded, it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other hip drops you see. Surely the fact he was so close to our try line should be a convincing mitigating factor. Getting it downgraded could be the difference between 1...
