We have been linked to players who take the word twilight to a new level, when the game is being dominated to by young athletic beasts and players with speed to burn. Iam not sure what the club views as the road forward but signing mid thirty players no matter how experienced they are will not...
So if we offer him 1.5mil and he has zero intention of signing with us that puts his cap value at 1.5 mil. Going to be extremely hard to put a genuine cap value on players and of course clubs will be able to work the system
PVL has dug a massive hole for the NRL. Okay he negotiated a massive broadcasting deal for the game partly based on introducing two new franchises.
Now with PNG having the tax free incentives and a very shallow talent pool has made it basically impossible for Perth and some of the lower ladder...
Very hard these days for young players to develop the skills to dig in and build an innings. Mainly due to the amount of limited over cricket and the lowering standard of shield cricket.
With the test players basically never playing shield anymore the young kids are getting a very soft...
They are doing what the Dolphins did, get a bunch of hard headed experienced players to start off there campaign. They will be competitive from the first game but probably will dip as their first season progresses. Also compound life will not work for everyone and there will be players...
One thing AD does have is passion. Okay his dummy spit a few weeks ago was not a great example of club passion but I think it was a result of frustration with the club culture and where we were heading. We just need to find a role for him in the 17 that bests suits his skills and 6 and 7 are not...
You might be right but I think it’s a skill your got or you haven’t and over the years there has not been a lot who have excelled at it. Guys like Cleary, Moses, Ricky Stewart in his day come to mind.Fogerty, DCE and Reynolds are also excellent
Great depth squad member but he will not lift us into the eight. Maybe if we had a super strong pack he could be the seven we have been looking for, but to me he is your depth half
I guess with any kicking game it is as good as the kick chase. Yes I agree the old kick and pray tactics we have been using for the bulk of the season has failed big time. I just think with a quality kicking game with a good chase you can strangle a team out of the contest by continuing to win...
To compete with the better sides we urgently need a 6 or 7 with a quality kicking game. It is the most important part of the game. At present we are at least 20m short of what’s required. From the very little I have seen of Andrews and Latu, both do not have long defensive kicking games.
We need a six or a seven that has a kicking game. Maden is about 20m short of a decent kicking game and lacks the variation in the type of kicks he uses. Although it is nice to have a seven that feeds his outside backs rather than crabs across the paddock. Great win today, but our team still...
We deserve the spoon, bar tonight the Dragons have shown some ticker. Our mob have been diabolical for months. Anyway we will give the spoon a real shot next year, maybe the Bears might spoil our chances, but it will be a battle
He was our attack coach a few years back and did a good job. We urgently need a new attack coach and a defensive coach. Come to think of it, a new head coach would help to
Draw names out of a hat or ask for volunteers. This will be one hell of a flogging. If we can get within fifty we have excelled or the Chooks are not having a dig.
This will be the norm soon with PVL’s expansion plan kicking in. Just not enough talent to go around and the cellar dwellers will...
When we got the spoon a couple of years ago I thought we were a tad unlucky and probably a better team than a couple of other teams. This year we will just miss the spoon but we are the worst side by some distance.
