Why? If Benji is performing better than Luke during preseason and the trials, why then should Luke "start" at half next year? There is genuine competiton for spots across each and every position. No one can be too comfortable anymore. Bring on 2018 - it's going to be a cracker!

Interestingly, in 2005 we did have three Kiwi Internationals in our team…in 2018 it looks like we will also have three Kiwi internationals in our side in Taylor, Matulino and (possibly) Packer. Maybe having our rep players outside the Origin pool has some merit- let's see next year.

I agree mate, and have said something similar in an earlier thread. It's clear to me that Moses, Teddy and Woods wanted Payten and only Payten to be appointed as coach. We have dodged a massive bullet regardless.

Did Josh Reynolds waive his COP or was this deal signed a couple of weeks ago and only announced today? To me, at least, his signing happened pretty quickly which seems to suggest the COP was in fact waived. Does anyone actually know?

No mate, these are good positive signings for the club. Both are representative level players and both will have a lot to offer our younger squad members. Don't worry, things are looking up.
