    IS IT TIME FOR PRIVATISATION

7/10 of the last premierships were won by clubs that are owned by leagues clubs. That's pretty much in line with the percentage of clubs in the comp that are owned by leagues clubs. It would seem that private ownership plays little to no role in success.

    Climate Change

The fossil fuel companies know climate change is proven beyond scientific doubt and that their time is up. Any debate around climate change being real, wind turbines killing birds, Australia adopting nuclear and so on is just a PR campaign to confuse people and buy a few more years of operation...

Wests Tigers Home Ground Mega Thread

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. My family had a good laugh when he declared straight faced it a sell out - with the camera operator capturing a lot of empty seats in the background.

Wests Tigers Home Ground Mega Thread

You don't need to look much further than crowd numbers from the last few weekends. Roosters got 38k to their game last weekend. Eels got nearly 30k the week before. There's no way you can get those numbers to LO or Campbelltown.

Wests Tigers Home Ground Mega Thread

Both LO and Campbelltown are pretty dire places to watch a live game for anyone but the absolute diehards or those who live very locally. Both remind me a bit a bit of a bloke I saw at a high school reunion recently, nice enough fella, but stuck in the past while the rest of the world has moved...

Most skilful player / GOAT debate

Good observation. I'm always a bit shocked when I see games from the 90s (even though I watched a lot of footy back then). Individual skill and playing what was in front of you played a much bigger role than today's structured gameplans. For mine, that's a much more enjoyable type of footy to...

Most skilful player / GOAT debate

The best I've seen is the great Cliffy Lyons. And trust me, I absolutely hate Manly! It's like the bloke was playing in a different dimension. He was always about four steps ahead of everyone else. Even late in his career when he was pushing 40 years of age with a dodgy knee, he still totally...

There's an enormous jump from playing against your own age groups in schoolboys and junior reps to playing against men who have performed regularly against the best, week in week out, for years. Skill and physicality are one thing, but having the mental resilience and maturity are a completely...

    Australia Day

Good call. I often think of my Dad's story as a migrant and how he has contributed to Australia. Moved to Australia on his own, spoke no English, worked on a farm for less than minimum wage, raised a family while working two jobs, paid taxes for 40 or so years, volunteered for decades, plus...

    David Nofoaluma #164

Playing out wide is a horrible place to be when your team struggles in the middle. I take my hat off to Nofoaluma. Local junior, 100 tries, nearly 200 games. Never shirked the hard yards. Many of us on the forum suffer from short memories. It's easy to forget that the bloke was often referred...

    Scott Fulton sacked

Absolutely. It was a big power play to undermine Sheens. Even if Fulton was a good recruitment manager, it's good that Richo has come in and cleared the decks so we can move on.

    Scott Fulton sacked

Fired over the phone in Richo's second week in the job. Richo has been very hands on with recruitment in his previous roles so this is no surprise.

    Justin Olam #281

I saw Olam training at my local gym once. The bloke's thighs were absolutely enormous. Here's hoping he passes the medical.

THE BOARD - Tell them what you think of their performance, now!

Richo said all the right things. Really impressive start. I found his statements about the future of the club being at Camden/Campbelltown region really interesting.

Fossils from the 80s who never even played for our club.

THE BOARD - Tell them what you think of their performance, now!

Fedora Hagipantelis is quoted as saying: “A rookie coach needed an experienced CEO, which they have removed from him. I know they have replaced him with Shane Richardson. I don’t know Shane Richardson." Sorry mate, if you have no idea who a multiple premiership winning CEO is who also had one...

THE BOARD - Tell them what you think of their performance, now!

While I can't say too much, I know a little about how Shane Richardson operates. The bloke is very, very intense! Not at all unusual for him to rip someone a new one over something minor. He's very hands on and does not take any BS. No doubt he'll ruffle a few feathers. I really hope he gets...
