He ran hard for them. All hit ups from about 10m out. The last one in particular was very soft defence though. I thought magpies best players today were Gaffney, Lakeman, Lele, Havea jnr and Lanyon.

I don’t think the competition format helps the first and second placed teams. Dogs got rolled against the sixth placed warriors. Doesn’t seem Like much of a reward to have 3 weeks between games going into the preliminary final for the top two teams.

They always seem to lose their way when Ashton large goes off. Usually the same time both props go off too.

Working fine for me

Half time wests lead 8-0. Defence has been good but turning the ball over regularly in the last 10 minutes of the half.

Scored a try from about 10 out by running himself. Looked pretty good for his first run. Only played about 50 minutes. I’d say they didn’t want to push his hamstring and will work more minutes into him over the next few weeks.
