1/4 of the season gone

It's early days true, but nice to read everyone's thoughts on where we are at after 1/4 season played. I agree with the overall sentiment… the whole show looks and feels more together, more professional, more focused on footy. The players all look fitter and sharper, even the guys who were rating pretty low on past form have picked up their intensity - as a whole it seems the group want to be in the fight each week and want to win each game (which is more than I have seen in previous seasons). Coaching staff seem to have done a great job so far and JT has been really direct and honest with his responses in all situations.

In the most part I was happy that we started the season by letting anyone go that didn't want to be a Tiger. I was a bit concerned when Austin left however, as I felt Moses wouldn't be ready for at least another 1/2 season - this is probably still showing, but anyone who doubts his bravery or commitment isn't watching the same games as I am. Apart from Nofa and Lodge, both deserving of a spot in the team, we seem to be fielding our best squad consistently - again a huge improvement on past seasons.

I think Woods, Marty and Sirro have been terrific with Keefy a real improver as well. Brooks has been inconsistent - to be expected, but I have real faith in him. Teddy and Richards are playing great, with Tim and Kev also improving, even Lawrence has lifted his effort each week.

All in all, a solid start that as supporters we should be pretty happy with. It's up to us to really get behind the team and hopefully we will see the extension of this good start, winning the majority of our upcoming games to get a bit of a "Winning Culture" rolling. Go the Tiges!!!

Great thread…terrific thread...love it....I can disagree with anything posted here, things are looking bright, structures are in place, defence is a work in progress but has improved great;ly and will get better....fitness and strength clearly on the up...kudos to the S& C staff here...the attack will come..we are focussing on a base, completions and defense....there is no point trying to attack if completions and defense are lacking...im very impressed with JTs interviews and pressers...been a long time since Ive looked forward to hearing a WTs coach speak his mind....he is interesting and always brings a point to things I have missed, I learn from his talks.
We're on the up...things arent bad....we apparently will recruit more from next year...futures bright.!
Great thread!!!

Ta TT…no sarcasm on this occasion....im genuinely stoked with how were are improving, yes theres plenty of room for improvement but I can see it down the track - I hope

For this club to take the next step, they need to enter the player market. A team isn't going to cut it on juniors alone. The Panthers and Eels are examples of having a good balance. You need to recruit well to do anything in this competition. No team does it all on the back of juniors.

we're not fooling the critics yet - we're well and truly under the radar at this point in time.
that could be a good thing

No one outside of the club and its supporters takes us seriously, and they really don't have any reason to yet. Its up to us to change that mindset.

Great thread!!!

Dare I say it Well Done Grant Mayer and Co.I was bashed to pillar and post in the off season(by a small minority who only seamt interested to post on a mayer thread or an anti robbie thread) who savaged me in posts saying I was Mayers relative etc. when all I knew was that the man would implement structure and a tight ship with no leaks. It sounds like all those big mouthed haters of Mayer(Sayonara Irvine and Co) AKA and the same ones who leaked all the crap(wannabe pretenders the type you find at a maccas carpark at 1230 am showin off there fully sick subarus in a mutual masturbation session with all there rent a crowd bros) have left this club and have been replaced by good people with a good knowledge of rugby league and also a good understanding of how a successful business should be run. :sign: :sign:

Where have you heard this?

read it or heard it earlier in the year from JT i think…or mayb e one of Mayers monthly thingos..forget...thought it was common knowledge

Think i read what you said wrong. Thought you said that they were looking to recruit for next yr.

Loved reading everyone's thoughts, awesome stuff.

I understand we all get a bit down after a loss, but by mid week we are mostly sensible lol.

Will try to remember to start a similar thing after 12 games
