10+ wins each of the last four years

Did you know that we are one of only five teams in the NRL to have won at least ten games during each of the last four years? The others are the Storm, Sea Eagles, Broncos and Eels. Besides Parramatta missing the finals in '08 all four of them have been there every year from '06 through '09\. On the other hand, we have missed out every year.

Note: I have not included the Titans as this is only their 3rd season. They have won at least ten games every year.

Shows we are consistent & just need to add that little bit extra in effort to make a big impact on next year…

It's unbelievable how some of the other teams have yo-yo'd up and down. These are the wins by year for some of them, starting in '06:

Dogs: 16, 12, 5, 18
Cows: 11, 15, 5, 10
Dragqueens: 14, 9, 13, 16
Sharkies: 9, 10, 17, 5
Roosters: 8, 10, 15, 5
Rabbits: 3, 12, 8, 10
Raiders: 13, 9, 13, 8

In comparison we are consistently ordinary.

What a bazaar statistic. Maybe suggests we haven't had a rebuild hence consistently middle of the road.

Mediocrity, we are consistent at it. 10 wins is enough to avoid embaressment and not a lot more.

Guys this is not a case of being unlucky. It is a case of rolling up every March with largely the same players and the same coach and the same game plans.

I reckon we will get 10 wins in 2010\. But we wont make the finals. its a very easy prediction to make.

all we need to do is win 1/2 the games we lose by 1 or 2 or 4 pts and we will find ourself in the top8, if not 4.

Did you also know if Penrith win where the only team NOT to make the top 8 since 2005?

Every teams last finals appearance (this year will count for the 7 who have qualified)
Bulldogs 2009
Dragons 2009
Titans 2009
Storm 2009
Broncos 2009
Sea Eagles 2009
Eels 2009
Sharks 2008
Roosters 2008
Warriors 2008
Raiders 2008
Rabbitohs 2007
Cowboys 2007
Knights 2006
Tigers 2005
Panthers 2004

After the Knights vs Panthers game, 12/16 teams will have played finals footy in the past 2 years. 14/16 in the past 3 years. We will be 1 of the 2 that haven't.

And with a playing roster including the likes of Moltzen, Lawrence, Tuiaki, Marshall, Galloway, Farah, Ellis who would be snapped up at the drop of a hat by any other club if given the chance. It has NEVER been about the lack of talent at WT since 2005.
One only needs to look at the teams above the WT on the ladder to realise that there are teams with less gun players in total that will be playing finals footy. It's on the verge of disgraceful.
