10 year salary cap concessions?

Was wondering about the salary cap concessions that used to be in place for players that have played 10 years in the NRL at one club….are they still in place, does anyone know? If so, how does it work?

Robbie and Benji would be eligible for it, Fulton would have to be close as well.

I think the NRL really needs to keep this sort of thing in the game to help to encourage loyalty and keep some sort of a semblance of club ties instead of the friggin code-hopping and team-hopping garbage that is so prevalent in our game nowadays. It is getting laughable.

Robbie is I believe, hence the 900k salary. As is benji, hence the 750k. Both would be significantly less with the concession.

It is now 8 continuous years service and $200,000, however it is $200,000 per club, not per player. So if a club has 1 player with 8 years the club can claim an allowance of $200,000, if a club has 3 players with 8 years’ service they can still only claim a maximum allowance of $200,000.

Fulton wont qualify because he had a stint in the ESL.

Too right here. Farah is our only man that qualifies with Marshall leaving. Lawrence will be coming close though and Galloway after him. Fulton had to start again after he left for England.
