I personally have no positives either. Not sure of the love for Buchanon, he was bashed by the imposing Newcastle forwards and doesn't have the size to match sides like souths.

Blair was pretty good imo, and i thought Ayshford looked strong with the ball thats about it really though.

either Anasta or Fulton is going to have to drop down to the bench for Pettybourne cause we really need someone who will run the ball hard from our own end and give us a bit of line speed in defence, that was the major problem last night we let them roll over us far to easily just letting their big forwards run riot, and when we finally got the ball it was deep in our own half and we could never work it into any decent field position with out making a stupid error

tbh i can handle it if i dont think we have the cattle or if its just one of those nights where everything seems to go against you and sure last night was a bit like that but for me the real worry was our defensive structure or lack there of, it just seemed the players out wide had no idea what they were doing, no trust on the inside man, blokes shooting up out of the line and then guys like Fulton chasing their tails trying to clean shit up everywhere, there just didnt seem to be any communication at all and im really worried about how the Miller/Anasta/Lawrence combo is going to hold up cause they were complete shit last night

Fulton is one of the best tacklers in our side. He's a work horse. There will never be anything flash about his play. He's up there with the likes of Ellis.

Buchanan did pretty well on his debut. Korobiete also when he put it in to chase down gagai and nearly saved that try.

Benji's impatience early on and insistence to kick on the third tackle when close to the line was frustrating, especially when we couldn't complete sets.

Korobiete helped chase down a runaway Newcastle player, he wasnt needed in the tackle but he was there just in case. excellent.

Then he walked back to his position on the wing…. newcastle spread it and took advantage of him being out of position to just score on his wing. if he showed intensity to get back to his position he most likely would have saved it.

that lack of intensity isnt acceptable of an NRL player

calling Koro out for lacking intensity, you cannot be serious? The compressed line we played with last night exposed him…. what was his choices a) maintain the line and force them to go out and around, or b) defend in correct position leaving a gaping hole between himself and centre, which would have been exploited by numbers if he defended in to plug it, or infield enough to have backrowers trying their luck with a head full of steam.

You can pick on a few thing in Koros game, but a lack of intensity or enthusiasm isnt one of them.

Sorry but Fulton was awful.

Buchanan was the one real positive.

Obviously "hybrid" you are a keen judge of footy, but Liam did get the players player award this week, go figure?

Fulton was just spread too thin. He topped the tackle count and as a result of trying to plug a thousand holes ended up being found out many times.

If he had wound back the effort his own performance would have looked better but the team would have suffered. Thats how I saw it anyway.

NRL stats had Robbie at 54 tackles and Fulton at 39

Thats my other concern v Penrith

The amount of teams that make 350 + tackles and win the following week is pretty small

It is a stat a guy I know uses in his footy tipping and it pays off most weeks

If the play that Galah's is talking about is the same one I'm remembering he slowly jogged back to his position with his back to the play and the Knights were swinging it wide and he didn't turn around until very late

Positives were: Robbie, thank God he plays for us (at the moment), Fulton (those who don't rate him, open your eyes) Galloway, Blair and Buchanen.

In fact, our forwards didn't cave in, the outside backs did. I thought we looked ok with the ball, but we hardly had any.

We need a halfback with strong defence and a long kicking game. Can Miller become this, I don't know. I'm still tipping Anasta/Marshall as our halves sooner than later.
