That jersey brings back mixed emotions. On one hand, after watching the Magpies lose by 60-70 every week, watching my team win a lot in 2000 was a breath of fresh air. However, that 01-03 period was pretty bleak. Tons of average players that would match today’s. If not, they were worse. Pretty sure that’s the jersey we wore when the Storm beat us 68-0 too.

These days I wonder if Hoppa was not a goose between the goal posts when 31-8, would we have made the 8 and history is different.

Never forget that game. Watched the 4pm replay on 9. From what I remember the first half was pretty tight, but in the first 10-15 mins after half time, we ran amok and scored 3 try’s. They were that good, Sterlo was comparing them to some of the try’s the Blues scored, who had hammered Qld a few days earlier. It got to 31-8, and I thought “How good’s this?. Let me turn the radio on and bath in the praise”. And they’re in the middle of talking about how great the Panthers are. I’m like “huh?”. And they conclude by announcing the score. In hindsight, better to find that way than slowly watching it unfold.

One of the few regular season games that I remember where I was. Another was the day Blacklock scored that try off the chip and chase on the siren at LO. I remember sinking on to the lounge in disbelief. This club has put me through the ringer. No wonder I’m not as invested anymore. It’s not emotionally possible.

Oh champion @GNR4LIFE, that's a game we should have won - Joel Cain should have taken Blacklock out but gave him a gentleman's free ride instead. I've never forgiven JC since.
Thanks for the memory - NOT! 😉

I was at that game. I missed everyone of our tries. Took a bunch of kids so I spent plenty of time lining up in the canteen line or taking kids to the toilet. I was at my seat every bloody time Panthers scored. So on reflection I was the mock. Apologies to my fellow Tigers fans. Tony bloody Puletua carved us up from memory
