2005 Feel Good Read

I was at Shark Park that day, on the Eastern sideline on the halfway line. Had a great view of the flick pass Benji got away while falling for big Patty to take with ease and motor down the sideline.

The difference between the two sides was so apparent early on though, the Sharks pack just rolled through the middle of us, but couldn't come up with the line breaks or second phase play to really trouble us. They weren't a particularly mobile or even skillful side though as the afternoon showed.

I so want to see that game again. That’s the game when I started to believe we were in this with a shot.

I've looked everywhere to try and find match highlights of that game and all I can really find on it are clips of Benji's sidestepping run in the second half.

There are highlights of a sort of that match in the 2005 season review DVD (with Vossy commentary), but I expect nearly everyone has seen that.

But @joebob doesn't have much content between 2000 and 2006; his collection really gets going from 2007.

gotigers69 apparently has a shit-tonne of old games on video and I'm going to try and talk to everyone to see if we can merge these collections and make them ongoing available via torrent. I'll do more work on it once corona has died down.

I confirm that I don't have a lot of full games from 2005 and would love to get a hold of them. The season highlights dvd does cover off every try in every game, so it's the best you can get now.

That 8 game run has so many great games, starting with the big win over the dragons when we were given no chance. Big wins over souths, manly, sharks and dogs. A game "we had no right to win" vs Canberra which is the one where I said I knew we could win the comp. **That tough win vs cows where we scored a try after a Richards kick off hit the post**. I was at a lot of these games, or can remember where and who I watched it with on TV. Oh, so many good memories. 🙂

Halatau scored didn't he? I've never seen anything like that watching rugby league in my life

Yeah Payten was tackled but from the PTB Halatau crossed next to the post.

We did something like it a few years later, against Souths approx 2009, Benji towering kickoff landed in open space, Ayshford jumped for the football almost uncontested and put Moltzen away down the sideline.
