Just wanted to see who went to this spectacle??? i was there at ANZ Stadium, bought tickets through Balmain Leagues Club and had drinks and nibblies before the game at the Leagues Club and then went back to Balmain Leagues afterwards for more drinks. What did you do??? I know a few people got tattoos of the Wests Tigers Premiers, anyone get any tattoos???? We caught the bus from Balmain Leagues to watch the Grand Final and it was like we lost on the way back on the bus as everyone was as quiet as a church mouse, couldnt believe it.

I was there with my good mate. Before the game we watched the sun set over the stadium and an unusual golden glow covered the seats. I said to my mate, "this is ours today".

I wasn't quite so confident during the game, but when Toddy dived on the ball in goal to score I knew it was ours. I still remember riding my bike home in tears in 1989 after watching the Canberra game. I waited a long time…we all did...and it was all worth it!

Your right YKW, it took a while to celebrate as noone could absorb what we had done! I still rate the semi win over the dragons as one of the best wins I have witnessed by any team let alone a Tigers team.

Yeah i was there as part of a bucks party organised months in advance. I too wasnt going crazy after the result. I was so contented that I couldnt stop smiling. It was like - 'this is what it feels like!'

I went beserk after the semi win but not to the same extent after the GF

I was at every finals game in 05 and the win against the saints seemed much sweeter than the actual grand final. I remember being at the pub near the ground after we beat the saints and the whole place was chanting tigers tigers and banging the tables. i dead set had goose bumps at the time and thinking about it now gives me the same feeling.

I was there, never forget it. Being a Western Suburbs supporter I'd been waiting 45 years to win a GF. It was such an exciting night. I'll never forget Benji's run for Pat Richards to score, knew then it was ours, we seem to just have more desire.

Had the family with me who followed other teams but were so happy for me. Still brings goose bumps whenever I think about it or watch it again.

I also liked how virtually no one left after the game with most waiting for the presentation.

I also met some cowboy supporters from QLD on the way home while filling up at a garage. They had a two day drive down to the GF and then two very long days drive back. They were very congratulatory on our win.

Very happy memories.

being an old tiger the 1969 grand final against souths sat in the old sheridan stand with the family mother brothers and a couple of mates the tears flowed that day alot of those have now gone to a better place. then when we joined west in the joint venture i didnt want to go with parramatta i didnt think it would work so pleased with the result i dont think a lot of people appreciate how good we go together thanks wests for your partnership

I was there great night, after the game went to the balmain leagues but it was too packed so we went to the pub across the road and got on it. Also got a kebab later in the night and ended up at the casino.

I was there as well it was a great experience and I'll never forget it, in fact I have a print of the stadium that night on my wall with the team photos around it. After dropping my mate home I drove through Campbelltown CBD on the way home and I have never seen locals that happy, they were going troppo from Leumeah to the CBD along Queen St. That win meant so much to many people (not to mention the club and team) former Wests and Balmain supporters had become Wests Tigers supporters who celebrated across Sydney. The underdogs all season whom most 'experts' didn't rate had stood up and showed just how good they really were.

i went to all of Wests' finals games in 2005\. i was lucky to get 3 tickets to the grandfinal. i parra fan wanted to sell his tickets after they lost in the semi against nth qld. so he made a thread on the old wt forum with his phone number and said the person who calls him first to buy his tickets can buy them off him for the amount he paid for them. lucky i was on the forum at the time. i rang him straight away and he actually drove from his place in blacktown to leumeah that same day to sell me the tickets. he told me that just after i rang him heaps of people straight away rang him. i guess it was meant to be. i gave the other 2 tickets to my parents.

i almost missed out on tickets for the semi finals against st.george illawarra. all of the tickets were gone but they had this raffle thing at wests leagues club in leumeah for the final few tickets. a couple won 2 tickets but they werent big fans so i bought them off them. i ended up giving the other ticket to my sister

I remember it well Alien, I had a flag on my car as well that night it stirred people up as I drove up Queen st, plenty of cheering, horns blowing etc they were having a good time. It reminded me a bit of being a kid driving out to the SCG in the 60's (yes I am old) from Annandale with the family to support Balmain when they made the GF (different result unfortunately). We had black and gold streamers on the car and you are right people come out of the wood work to cheer.

i was also at campbelltown stadium the morning after the grandfinal when the players went there with the nrl premiership trophy. i really hope that trophy comes back to campbelltown in 2011 - where it belongs

If it does, it will be a great ride

many years of pain and suffering ended in 2005 I never thought the day would come. I was ashattered man after 88 and 89 and knew then that Balamin would never win a grand final again. Thankfully the merger gave me something very special and a dream fulfilled.

Would love to see another how great would that be. Fingers crossed hope the planets line up and it all falls into place.

Go you good thing! Go the Wests Tigers!!
