cant think of the rest :unamused:

There's a few options in various positions going into next season but at this early stage, I'll go with this 17:

1\. Moltzen
2\. Pritchard (Tuiaki will not be right by round 1)
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan (Tupou could be worth a go if he recovers well from the clean up surgery in his knee)
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Payten
13\. Heighington

14\. Dwyer (to give Payten a breather)
15\. Laurie (to give Gibbs a breather)
16\. A Fifita (to give Galloway a breather)
17\. Flanagan (to give Heighno a breather)

18\. Taumata - He could play in the halves, centres or fullback but I think he'll start in State Cup and if he keeps out of trouble and plays well, he'll find a spot in the 17 somewhere.

Willow…...you think Fafita will be ready for a bench spot.....

From what I have seen from him he has gotten better as the season has gone on. Both the Fifita brothers will train with the top squad in the off-season and with the departures of Morris, Galea, Payne, Trimarchi and Halatau, this opens the interchange bench right up, and as we know, we are very light on for props. I think if the Fifita brothers really put in during the off-season and improve their fitness, then either one could sneak onto the bench for next season as they both offer size and strength and good go forward.

Even if they don't sneak onto the bench initially, if they go well in the State Cup, they'll be sure to figure in FG at some stage next season.

Very true Hybrid. I think it depends on who Sheens wants at fullback and in the centres alongside Lawrence. I think Lui may well get first shot at 7 next season from what Sheens and Simmons have mentioned about him so far. There are so many possibilities in the Tigers backline for next season, it's going to be a very interesting off-season, and I'd say it will be very competitive at training as a result.

Andrew Fifita, is almost unstoppable in NYC, he is a gun in the making, his brother is very good too. Would like to see how they go in SC if they get a chance. Did I read somewhere that Woods is only 17 ? if this is the case he will be great in years to come.

18 and the club has high hopes for him…......he has a great offload in traffic....

I agree with you Andrew is a gun and has impressed me in all the games I've seen him play.....needs to work on his paitence's...Prop in first grade is a big ask but off the bench as Willow said with off season training who knows.....

Don't forget we saw Gibbs make his debut at 18 or 19\. Mind you he hasn't really stepped up until this year when it comes to going forward consistently well. Fifita is a different proposition though, both brothers are bigger than Gibbs and more powerfully built and I think with some hard work on their fitness and strength, then they're very good propositions for coming off the bench in FG next year.

Not sure if it's good or bad  but Andrw reminds me of a young Blocker Roach.

I know this is turning into a bit of an Andrew Fafita thread but I agree that a) he looks like a gun player and b) he could see some first grade next year.

Aaron Woods I'd rather see play NYC again.

The whole forward pack from the NYC this year are standout and should all be in State Cup next year.

My round one side.

1\. Blake Lazarus GK
2\. Taniela Tuiaki
3\. Beau Ryan
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Tame Tupou
6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Tim Moltzen
8\. Keith Galloway
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Todd Payten
11\. Gareth Ellis
12\. Chris Heighington
13\. Blake Ayshford

14\. Mark Flanagan
15\. Bryce Gibbs
16\. Simon Dwyer
17\. Alan Schirnack

18\. Robert Lui
19\. Arana Taumata
20\. David Gower
21\. Geoff Daniella
22\. Andrew Fifita
23\. Jason Schirnack
24\. Mitch Brown
25\. The forward from state cup that plays best in the finals AND let them know they are all vying for a spot in the top grade.

We definitely need to promote a reserve grade player or two all things considered. Daine can be released tbh, he's not a lynchpin like I once thought.

My team is picked upon players being fully fit,in form,or living up to there full potential

1.Taumata (quick, elusive like Benji & in broken play can be devastating & a ball player)
2.Tuiaki (puts the fear of god into an oppenent when running at them)
3.Lawrence (our best centre)
4.Ayshford (big & strong, never looked like losing his spot once getting a shot in 1st grade)
5.Toupo (Like Tuiaki when fit is a wrecking ball)
6.Marshall (One of the best when he's on & the worlds best 5/8th)
7.Moltzon (his partnership with Benji looked lethal should never have been moved)
8.Gibbs (An area we need strengthening but Gibbs did improve this year)
9.Farah (The best hooker in the world & our captain)
10.Galloway (our only devastating prop ,should push for origin next season)
11.Ellis (lived up to the hype,09 player of the year)
12.Laurie (when head is in the right place can be devasting & shows passion which we lacked at times this year)
13.Heighnington (was starting to make lock his own)

14.Flanagan (Alot of wraps on the young pom & can cover in the backs & forward)
15.Payton (Impact off the bench might be the way for the big fella)
16.Shirnack (A bit no frills but with a full off season could turn out to be a handy meter eater)
17.Fifita (looks impressive could be the next big thing if he transfers his NYC form to 1st grade)

What I hope to see, mixed with a bit of what I expect to see:

1\. Lote Tuquiri
2\. Taniela Tuiaki
3\. Blake Ayshford
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Mitch Brown

6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Tim Moltzen

8\. Todd Payten
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Keith Galloway
11\. Chris Heighington
12\. Gareth Ellis
13\. Liam Fulton

14\. Arana Taumata
15\. Bryce Gibbs
16\. Daine Laurie
17\. Willie Mataka

18\. Beau Ryan
19\. Geoff Daniella
20\. Mark Flanagan
21\. Al Schirnack
22\. Jason Schirnack
23\. Andrew Fifita
24\. Simon Dwyer
25\. David Gower
26\. Robert Lui
27\. Aaron Woods/John Skandalis
28\. Blake Lazarus
29\. Rhys Pritchard
30\. Tame Tupou

I've heard talk of a 30 man squad for next year.

Woods will most likely still be in the 20's so replace him with Skando in your top 30…

As far as Lote goes........well personally i wouldn't want him but if it does come off we'll see how it goes.....

the rest of your top 30 looks bang on the money to me......another Prop wouldn't go astray....

Willow I agree with the A. Fifita selection from round 1 even if he only plays 20 minutes because he can just go like the clappers for those 20 minutes then build up his match fitness... Also look to do the same with Woods at some stage although he has another year in the NYC, so maybe next year...

They are the 2 that will replace the likes of Skando & eventually Payten IMO
