 but thats your opinion, i dont think he would though. Wish we kept him!

the guy has so much courage, can tackle, has a kicking game, very fast and elusive, can read a game, can put players through holes,is as tough as nails, aways plays like its his last game, what more would you want from a half.? any way this topic isn't about my little mate, lets move on..

Now we have more than likely signed Tuqiri, our attack looks close to the most dangerous in the NRL, not to mention a maturing and improving forward pack which has been bolstered by a few key signings.

The issue I'll be most interested in is where do Moltzen and Taumata play? In my opinion you need both on the field, but Moltzen is most valuable at halfback. If this is the case, where does Taumata fit? I'd like to see something like this:

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Taumata
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington
13\. Flanagan

14\. Fulton
15\. Ayshford
16\. Payten
17\. Cayless

Brown
Tuiaki
Ayshford
Lawrence
Tuqiri
Marshall
Moltzen
Heighington
Ellis
Gibbs
Galloway
Farah
Cayless

Taumata
Payten
Fulton
To be shared by our young backrower/front rowers till someone stands out

I've named Taumata at fullback which I realise is not going to happen, but I just don't see what he offers as the 14\. Would he get decent game time or are you carrying him as a pure backup for injuries during a game? How would you interchange him?

I can see why some name him at centre, but I hope not. I really like what Ayshford did in the 2nd half of last season. I think he is really going to step up in 2010\. A bit like Moltzen from 2008 to 2009.

Ayshford on the bench as a forward would be a whole different game for him. He's a centre or winger. We have enough forwards that can play lock. Maybe at the back end of his career, but he looks primed as a solid partner for Lawrence in the centres.

Can you imagine Taumata coming on at the 60th minute mark and carving up opposition forwards with a fresh set of legs. He is quick. Just what you need to get a try back or press the advantage late in a game. In saying that I hope he starts in place of Lui. Nothing against the latter - I just think Arana is going to be a phenomenal player if he gets his head right!

But who does he replace and where does he play when he comes on. Surely not for Farah at dummy half.

Come to think of it I could probably warm to the idea of him coming on for Lui and playing halfback. If Lui is the starting halfback then he might get a bit heavy in the legs in the 2nd half with the step up from NYC. It would be a good way to compare the two at halfback I suppose. Actually I don't mind that idea, assuming Lui struggles handling the 80 minutes. But the issue still remains that we somewhat waste an interchange as your halfback should be able to play the full 80 and those interchanges are much better used to rotate the forwards imo. Then again Heighno, Ellis and Fulton can all play 80 minutes. Not ideal imo, especially for Heighno, but….. yep I wouldn't mind seeing that. Time to re-think my team maybe.

If Moltzen, Benji and Taumata are all on the field in whatever position they play, we already have a back-up half on the field…..It would simply mean a re-shuffle.

Replacing Farah is another story, however I do think that Taumata or Moltzen could do some damage out of dummy-half.

Surely you're joking? Ayshford on the bench at the expense of Daniela :brick:

Only because of the speed factor Daniela has over Ayshford. It was a tough call tho.

ive accepted the fact they we will see moltzen as our fullback…
reason being is that he is a great fullback but and even better halfback..though if he is our halfback there is no one that comes close to having the skills at fullback that he does. in making him halfback it greatly decreases our last line of defense.

He can't tackle! Josh Davis from the Magpies ran over the top of him for 4 tries last season in one match. Ayshford will remain in the centres with Lawrence, make no mistake about that. Daniela will only be used in the event of injuries striking down the main wingers. I reckon Brown will get a run on the wing before Daniela for his extra height and strength.
