Three main criteria for mine.

1\. Plays 80 minutes each week.

2\. Leads by example with their actions.

3\. A good communicator that is consistent and measured.

I also think a vice captain needs to be identified, so playing group know the succession when the captain is off the field for whatever reason.

Captain = Lawrence
Vice Captain = Reynolds

Can this be the year we just honour Chris Lawrence as the sole captain of the club instead of giving bit parts to players that are in contract negotiations with other clubs?

There isn't really any ready made standout captain that doesn't really fall under an experience/longevity dual criteria so I'd back Madge to pick Five in the leadership group which in my opinion will have Lawrence ©, Farah, Reynolds, Brooks & Mbye.

I think it's a good mix with Brooks destined to be a forever Tigers player, Reynolds with a bit of fine tuning could be an excellent captain, Mbye is bordering on representative honours and despite being a new cub I just think he offers that seniority role already.

Farah' for mine as a Vice Captain is a certainty in what will be his last year whilst Lawrence is only 30 and could have 3-4 years left.

Whoa seriously! That should go down a real treat next season :laughing: I expect Liddle to see lots of first grade then if he can keep himself fit.

He loves Farah great trainer but if Liddle is looking the goods and injury free don’t expect loyalty to a veteran. Good coaches don’t make the same mistake twice irrespective of the pressure from above.
