2019 NRL Grand Finals *Spoilers

He must be feeling the heat and is acting like a child would. Trying to worm out of responsibility and in the process what little credibility he had left quickly vanishes. There's no doubt being a ref must be a tough gig. But if you put your hand up to be one, (NPI) you have to accept criticism when a glaring error is made. We all make mistakes. Freakin own it man! In the bigger picture, it's the NRLs fault An over ruling wouldn't have occurred if there was only one ref out there.

As first reported by Fairfax, Rule 16.9 says the only way Cummins could have lawfully overturned the call was if foul play was present.

“The referee judges on matters of fact and shall not subsequently alter those judgments,” the rule states.

“He may cancel any decision made if prior foul play of which he had no knowledge is reported to him by a touch judge.”

I suppose that 6 to go wasn't a fact. Plenty of times you see one ref call loose carry when someone drops the ball then changes it to a penalty for raking.

So the NRL, in backing Cummins saying he got the decision right in fact are wrong.... Days after the event even when everything's settled down and they can look at everything

Foul play

Raking at the ball as foul play? Maybe that's how they interpret it.

2 refs hasn't improved things, nor has the bunker

Does anyone need any more evidence that the NRL is a running Joke?

What an absolute load of BS. How many refereeing mistakes during the year were corrected when they could have easily been done so by the second ref or the bunker. So we put up all year with teams being dudded by incorrect calls and only have to wait to the final 10 minutes of the season for a referee to correct his original decision.
