Lewis was a lock for qld. He was told he was't fit or good enough in that position to challenge Ray Price or Wayne Pearce in the Australian side, hence his move to 5/8.

Or maybe he played 10 or 12 in Union before deciding to switch back to league

He was always going to end in the 6 jersey .....and then had to compete against Kenny , Lamb ,Lyons

What would have worried Wally more ...competing against Price /Pearce or competing against Kenny .....

That is a very easy question to answer

Qld's only played Lewis at lock once in SOO

The number on Brooks' back or Doueihi or Madden's back is irrelevant. Brooks plays left side, Doueihi and Madden right side. It's nice to have Madden available eight now. He's a great propsect for WTs.

Madden looked good to me in 2019.

Please throw in Smith and Mavoni from Jersey Flegg for next year - both weapons. Shame they couldn't have gotten CC experience last year which will hold a few back a bit maybe.

Smith and Mavoni both played for the same junior club as me growing up - Liverpool Catholic Club Raiders.

Mavoni would help us out at training quite regularly. Hope he makes it.

Joey Leilua has been looking after Mavoni and Kei from what I've seen. They're regularly as his house, doing Saturday sessions together and they trained together in the off season too. Will be good for the young fellas and it's good to see Joey take on a more leadership role

The Jersey Flegg boys must be dreading lining Mavoni up in tackling practice each week. Doubt many would be able to stop him effectively.

Whilst our CC side looks like it could be very strong, if Smith and Mavoni go up, we might struggle in the comp this year. I don’t really know much about the squad so we might be surprised but we could be a bit thin.

Hoffman, Kei, Talau, Momo, are all trying to take Jimmy and BJs spot in the centres.

Dont know much about Edenn Rogers-Smith or Mavoni. There is quite a few training pic put up yesterday but no name captions.

Yeah sorry. What I meant was our JF could struggle without Mavoni and Smith. On paper, the CC should be very strong.

SG ball team lists are out as they get ready for round 1. Kitione Kautoga named for magpies, he trained with first grade, the Saukuru brothers both playing in seperate teams and Henry O Kane listed for Balmain. The magpies captain Matamua really stood out in schoolboys cup too.

Interesting to note that Mikey Tannous has not been listed in the Balmain SG Ball squad. I assume he might be getting put straight up into Jersey Flegg. If so, could be good signs he has been impressing at training.

Good to see these names - Balmain Tigers, Western Suburbs Magpies, North Sydney Bears, Illawara Steelers. Interesting to see the Victoria Thunderbolts playing SG Ball. Didn't know they had a team like that. Hopefully one day Melbourne will have their own reserve grade team and won't need QLD.

the NZ trio that we signed all playing for Wests this week. Tray Lolesio starting in the front row, and Jarney Proctor-Harwood and Tamehana Paruru on the bench.

Hopefully we see a much stronger Wests outfit this year. They should be too strong for North Sydney.

Victoria have had their own SG ball team for a while I thought? nothing new

Western Australia have their own one aswell, but due to covid and stuff doubtful this year. They really struggle to match any team as you could imagine though.
