2025 Injury Update

We have the bye in Rd 12 so makes Spence not to rush them back the week before that. Don’t know when Latu did his hamstring spoke to him last week and mentioned he’d be back in two weeks, but better to rest those type of injuries longer than shorter.
But we really need to get help with Latu’s hamstrings issue, while we still have the turn coat!! Can’t we send him ti the states or something? Surely over there is somebody that specialises in this shite? Now’s the time why we still have pond scum’s lackey!
The club brought one of the country’s leading footy hamstring specialists in last year to help with his rehab. May need another consult.

Terrible if Latu has done his hammy again. Been a constant issue for him

I rate the kid highly but his body and getting consistent games is a major red flag.

We must get another halfback for 1-2yrs unless they view Bud coming back will happen.

Scenarios along with Luai and Latu next season ...

Galvin remains
Bud returns at the reported $500k pa
Tyrone May likely I reckon will be signed as a back-up half
Mason continues development in Cup but at 5/8
Jared Haywood given reps in lower grades at booth hooker & half
We recruit a 'senior' half for 1-2 seasons (Reynolds or DCE)

Wasn't Mason a 5/8 before he went fullback?

Not convinced on Latu being able to play week in week out NRL, at least not for a few years at best. This is not about ability it’s his lack of physical resilience that’s the problem.
I believe we need a proper game managing 7 with a real kicking game. We missed out on Fogerty and when you look around there aren’t too many left that are attainable. Katoa from the Dolphins is a future prospect, Smith at Roosters maybe.
The opportunity to bring in an old experienced guy for 2 years is appealing but highly unlikely I think.

A high quality kicker can make all difference to an average set of six or when you’re getting out of your own end. With Mitch Moses back form injury got Parra into good positions and as much as I hate to say it. He won the game for them against us with his kicking.
Reynolds, DCE, Cleary, Fogarty all make things easier on their team through their kicking games.
A.D has a bomb on him but isn’t a half.

Absolutely right - completely changes the game when your middles and outside backs are struggling to get out of their 30 metre zone. A guy who can kick like Moses or Fogerty can switch the whole dynamic around and immediately you’re nailing the opposition in their 20. Takes so much pressure off your forwards - also add the variation in quality attacking kicks and you’re instantly a different team.

These Hamstrings are really starting to become a big problem across the game.
I wonder if the round 13 for Latu and Skelton has added a few weeks extra to get them right.
