The 2025 pre-season has begun, with 22 Wests Tigers players arriving at the Zurich Centre for the first day of training.

Monday’s group primarily comprised the younger members of the top 30, players on development contracts, and those on extended squad training contracts.
The likes of Lachlan Galvin, Jahream Bula and Samuela Fainu were present on day one, as were new faces such as Tristan Hope and Jaxson Rahme.

Hope, Rahme and Eiden Ackland are the only recruits to join the squad at this stage of pre-season, with the trio joining the club as part of the extended training squad.
Justin Matamua, Heath Mason and Tallyn Da Silva were also among the returning group.

Wests Tigers Rookie of the Year, Galvin, returned to pre-season a week earlier than scheduled and expressed excitement about returning for the pre-Christmas training block.
“It’s great to be back, I wanted to get here early and just get into it,” Galvin explained.
“We did a lot of skills, a bit of fitness and it’s good to get the first day out of the way, but I love being back training with the boys.
“It’s been good meeting all the new boys too and seeing everyone coming back from last season.
It all starts now, so we'll just turn up each day and work hard.

Also noticed Will Craig - thought someone mentioned on here that he was gonski to panthers

very clear shift in philosophy with Marc Tannous the only SG Ball squad member doing an NRL preseason this year.

under Sheens, guys like Haywood, Godinet, Taupau-Moors, Duncombe would've been there for sure. under Richardson it seems as if it's not going to be as easy, which is how it should be.

naturally you assume Heamasi will do a couple weeks either side of Christmas when school wraps up.

Interesting re Marc Tannous. He was an omission from the junior rep summer squads so maybe he is on a NRL pre-season T&T.

well he wouldn’t be in the summer squad, as he’s with the NRL side I spose.

I anticipate he’ll be named in the final Balmain SG Ball squad.

quite interesting that the club rates him so highly. I’m anticipating development deal for 2026 at this point.
