Honestly no excuses in missing the 8. We have what should be 6 guaranteed points in Dragons x 2 and the bye. Knowing us, we lose, but if Benji and the boys are serious, we should be comfortably in the top 8 by the end of year

There are no guaranteed points in Rugby League ever let alone in 2026 with 6 agains as they are. Wins against Canberra, Bulldogs and Titans are 3 of the gutsiest performances from us in over a decade. Nothings easy around here mate.

Our starting side was red-hot and afterwards with injuries and suspensions we are still hanging in there. We have resigned 95% of the lads we wanted to stay long term so playing that extra game of footy this year is more symbolic than it is crucial.

We are out of that catch 22 of recruitment where we couldn't get good players because we don't play finals, and we don't play finals because we can't get good players. We've very quietly nixed that paradox with Luai making his PNG call.

We'll need a lot of things to go our way with injury and form to make a finals tilt.

That draw looks quite good.

That 4 week period with Dogs, Raiders, Parra and Dragons.. it's such an important month of footy.

We travel once to Canberra and another big travel to NQ. A bye in there as well at an ideal time.

I really hope we don't concede 50 again this year.

It is mid June and we are still a chance for the semis and just for a change it is not just a "mathematical" chance but a realistic chance.Hopefully our injury problems are over for the year because we have really been hammered by them this year.

We will not win six games, maybe four at very best. Injuries have destroyed our year, at full strength we could have made a serious challenge for the eight but zero chance now. The loss to Souths and the Bronks will bites us big time.
