No wonder richo doesnt want us playing vegas or magic round and i dare say when the agreed contract for magic round is up (which i think is '27 or '28) richo will bail on magic round so our 2 upgraded stadiums will get max games for us fans.

I now live up in gold coast and even i want the.tigers to get as many home games as possible.... if i dont get to see them live as much so be it....

There are certain things that "sell"
Roosters v rabbitiha
Gf reply
Manly vs Melb
Broncs vs cowboys
Dogs vs Eels
Etc etc
We will probably have 2 of these games because they sell

Have a feeling that they'd have made sure Melb Penrith Brisbane roosters get their byes around origin too

That's what the NRL prioritises. Who cares what happens to tigers. We make headlines off the field not on it anyway.

Clubs opt into Magic Round home games. There is a decent financial incentive from the NRL and given our club hasn’t been making any profit for the last 10 years until this year it makes a lot of sense why we are taking the opportunity. Broncos would never sign up as they know they just get a bonus home game if they don’t and are already one of the wealthiest clubs.

I don’t particularly mind it myself but only if we are playing a non-qld club because it if you play a home game in Sydney against a Sydney club the away team could match your fans (I believe our home game against dogs last year we were outnumbered) so I guess if we both have no fans then it’s even again.

Last year we played Dragons and won.
This year Sea Eagles who we beat last year at our “home” game at Allianz for the Gadhu Gathering.

Fair points with Eels though, except I swear every time we play them when they are the home team we win but when we are the home team they win. Probably just a recency bias. And the Rd1 bye is certainly a ridiculous outcome that the NRL should have fixed.

I really don’t put as much stock into our home games as most people seem to. Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t think we really have a fortress mentality home ground advantage at any of our home grounds and I actually think we often play better away from home.

I know you said play better as opposed to w/l....but i agree we dont really have a fortress
 
We'll have a really solid hit out against our own KOE team and have a stack of injuries to reduce our available depth even further. 😡
