3, 2, 1, v Storm

The genius on fox gave Laurie 1 point.I think he must have been imbibing all of Slothfields monthly booze quota. He was not bad but we definately had better players
I can see plenty of people here giving Laurie points too. I don't think he was in our best 3.

I actually think our wingers were in our top 3 players then Luch/Kelma and Offa!

Who is this James Smith guy anyway? Never heard of him.

Just watched it again, if AD was kicking at a 100% we could have easily won that game. Musgrove played pretty good considering he's only played a few min in trials. Joe played well as did noffa.
Garner shouldn't been in side, but what is the alternative??
Kelma and Stef ran with energy, surely must have run some good meters.
People talking up lucy but I thought he didnt run that well.
To'a in for Roberts, Peachey to play hooker, simpkin bench as an experiment.
3. Maumalo
2. Noffa
1. Brooks

Nofa was getting those corner kicks from Benji and scored a few times, very rarely leaving the ground. Maumalo otoh launches like a missile.
I’d like to see Brooks go to Nofa’s corner when the opportunity presents.
We weren’t far off a win, there’s a lot to be pleased about.

I was very pleased until when the score got away from us, we have to up the tempo in last 20 mon like the top sides do, if we got 💯% goal kicking the score line could have been too much for storm. I want our forwards to stand deeper and launch themselves the the D, Musgrove knows how to do it but needs another full game, all our forwards lack mongrel except Joe and Musgrove

We created enough chances but didn’t close the deal. 11min before halftime Tualagi had the ball with a 3 on 2 😲
We also crossed the line in the last 15min.
It’s not a win, but it’s a massive improvement on the last nrl game we played.

Absolutely agree with what your saying, we differ only in areas where we are not talking about the same thing. Point one, kick conversions, secondly keep foot on throat with barnstorming hitups and kick to corners. Appart from the kicking side if things we nearly did what I've said, just not good enough, our post contact metres were poor and they put us on our backs and we didn't do that to them, its hard to get a roll on with slow play the balls while defense resets which the storm are trained for.

He is coming back from injury, so I personally can’t be too hard on him, especially considering he ran for 178mts. Was enough I guess to get him the 1 Dally M point for the losing side. 😆
He got a point from jimmy smith who if you’ve ever listen to has no idea who knows how many metres he run on the fox site it said 140

Hopefully see better use of the bench though.
Bench was atrocious wasn’t it.

Madge must’ve been spectating the team not coaching it.. When someone made an error, he’d punt them.

Also king Twal must be having problems.. flat footed bandit

Got penalised for swinging the hammer.
Made no sense, on report.

Tamou walks into the 17.
Like to see Seyfarth keep his spot and Garner fall off.

Twal, Musgrove, Seyfarth, Peachy - bench.

Zane was impressive huh?
Keen to see more of him this year.
Zane was very good in attack. I don't think I've ever seen a WT forward charge into the attack like that. Our previous metre machines like Woods, Twal, Ellis etc had a step before the line. This is refreshing to see.

However, I mentioned at the start of the year that Musgrove did that last year too, he was fantastic for the All Stars and then 2 games once he came back from suspension then fell off a cliff. Let's see if he's gained the fitness and attitude since then.

My money is on him being a defensive liability. Still can't believe we signed him for 4 years based on nothing.

Yeh, Jimmy is not a reliable source. The Dally Ms aren’t an accurate measure anyway, and the idea of giving a point to a player on the losing side is akin to the ref having a conscious attack and evening up the penalty count. Laurie had a fair game, what you’d expect from a player coming back, but there were others better.
So, my guess is jimmy saw the nrl site which showed 178 run mts, which was greater than the best Storm player did. Just Lazy. Shows he probably didn’t watch the game.

If ever there was a time to give the winger from the losing side any points, this was it IMO. 2 tries, very good metres (post contact too)
