3 Pronged Attack

Bismark

I've already mentioned this new "style" earlier in the season, but I thought I'd just try to make it more clear as to its success.

Dragons (1st) - Hornby, Soward, Boyd are all ball playing playmakers. Boyd could well be Dally M player of the year

Tigers (2nd) - Marshal, Farah, Lui. This has only really clicked in the last 2 weeks, and look at our performances against our bogey teams

Titans (4th) - Rogers, Prince, Bird (and even Campbell). They have options everywhere when kicking or on the goal line, and with Rogers playing the way he is and Bird coming back, it will really atart to become potent.

Roosters (5th) - Carney, Pearce, Anasta, I think it's the best set of playmakers in the comp by far and a reason why they are 2nd favorites to win the comp.

It seems that is a new way of playing, utilising fullback or hooker as an extra playmaker, so you have 3 options. Takes pressure off the half, allows 5/8th and halfback to be spread to the edges on the goal line, you have no idea who will be kicking on 5th tackle. I thinks its great, and I'm really glad to see that we've got it as well with Lui. He's comeback from injury is nothing short of remarkable.

Agreed, Lui has been very good the past 2 games.

Benji and Robbie were subperb today, they combined beautifully twice with little kicks for each other and hard flat spiral passes to get the ball out to the wings quickly…execution once it got out there was poor but the playmakers all did their job again today.

If we can maintane this we are a real chance in the finals.

I prefer to add another dimension off the bench. While it's not that important between round 1 & 26, I really like the idea of having a quality ball-playing 14 in the Finals.

If he is ready, Moltz is the perfect foil to come off the bench in the Finals, but I wouldn't show my hand until game day ghat he is back…

I was watching Mitch Brown yesterday and he was playing the PERFECT fullback role. He followed Benji everywhere. Anywhere Benji was, Brown was 3-4metres behind him, keeping the defence in two minds. Benji and Brown combined well to put Ryan in for the first try. Great effort from Brown again yesterday and diffused some tricky grubbers on our goal line.

we almost have a 4 pronged attack with Fulton.
Whilst he does run lines he also acts as a ball player a lot of the time.

You also have Payten who plays a ball playing link man and Ellis and Fulton who both play edge gap runners who also have the ability to ball play and that is causing big problems for the other teams because they are not sure if they are going to hit a hole or put a player through a hole. Lui holds the key,if he keeps fit and well we will do okay, in a way we were lucky he had such a long injury break, he will be a lot fresher for it

Lui is still not good in Defense

Dont forget Moltzen

Lui was yesterday. He took on forward after forward in one-on-one tackles. The once against Moi Moi was memorable.

Won’t forget Moltzen. I like him a lot but unless there is another major injury to Lui I would not be rushing him back. I good off season will do him no harm and he’ll be ready to fire in whatever position Sheens wants him in.

i reckon u can include the panthers in that bismark.

Walsh, Coote, Lewis would be the panthers 3, and altho they play different positions, give them plenty of options to attack

I was thinking that. I mean they also have Graham, who I think is grossly underrated and will form a surprisingly successful combination with Tim Smith next year.

The issue is, on 5th tackle, are you in doubt on who the ball will go to? Walsh is the lynch-pin of that attack, so I feel that while they have play makers, they are not as dangerous as the other teams listed.

 This is funny…

Sheens having done away with the Halfback position for the 3 Pronged Attack.....

It's taken him 3 years but it's finally catching on......visionary
