$50 Million reason Wests Tigers are prepared to quit Campbelltown.

Penrith had a stadium we would be proud of, seating around 20k.
They are going to demolish it and spend $300 million for a new one. Political BS.
We are grovelling for $50 mil to $100 mil over 10 years. In a fantastic growth area, politics included.
It's an investment in the future. Nothing like it anywhere near it. Parra 'n Penrith the closest!
Bronco's had 40,000 at the game last night. We get 10,000 at CS if the sun is shining.
I can see why we havn't had funding there though as the club has never really committed to the area. Richo is turning that around so hopefully something happens. Is he mates with Albo?

I was thinking the day about what $50 mill would get you and what they spend it on. Maybe a southend stand with dressing sheds and corporates . As you say, both current stands need demolishing and starting again.
50mill could get washed up in an environmental study if depending on what was found

OKAY ENOUGH!

So we push the Leichaert council to invest 40m in Concord.

Then we push Campbelltown to spend 50m so we stay there.

Can we make up our damn minds!

Look, we get a good stadium. Great, fine.
But grabbing 2x stadiums and having 50m spent on our whim is just a joke.
50m buys a hell of a lot in the suburbs.

Yea but why is that!

Is it because the stadiums have nice rails, and seats???

Or because people want to get in and out of the ground?
...

Now I get disabled access, I know a few fans who have mobility issues and it is a thing. But it's not a 50million thing unless you go to crazy extremes.

Seriously Sydney, we need to cut the council red tape. It is red tape and it is contracting! The "you must get 3 quotes, pay for 3 quotes, dick around with the BS vendor who gives the lowest quote.. Recall them when they do a BS job... Oh and add environmental consultants to do impact assessments that mean nothing, because if they say anything bad they don't get re-hired... etc"... It's all a damn joke.

Both councils should call the wts bluff.

Be honest both grounds are a dog but after 3 spoons trying to demand anything is a bit cheeky.

We need the area more than they need us.

Would be interested if they just said they had other things to spend the money on that would benefit the area

In comparison though, Parra and Penrith had $300m on their stadiums.

CommBank cost a lot more than Penrith Stadium will unless there are absolutely major blow outs. To me the $300m for Penrith seems very high when you see what they are actually getting.

Gold plated toilets?

like drainage n feasibility study's on why not to build housing estates .gov v private on flood plains. lol

I've been thinking about this. All that ground really needs is a single large, fully seated, covered grandstand with corporate facilities. Just replace the alf-dugid stand, does it really need to be an entire new stadium outright?? Have a single grandstand, but its bloody good and has all the corporate boxes Richo reckons we'd need to compete.

That old stand really isn't fit for purpose, but the features around the stadium that were setup in 1999/2000 are fine. Good example of what I'm describing is the expansion of Fulham's ground in London. Call it the Tim Sheens stand.

I am also like 300m!

So the school near us is excellent. They can't get a new fence and run on very little money.
it's like 10 or 20m to add lifts to a Train station. A lot more people use that station then a football stadium.

Footy is footy, we don't need no damn stinking stadiums. What happened to the hills? My brother took me to Terry Lamb hill to watch Magpies vs dogs. We were happy, crowd was happy.

Not that it applies to us or any NRL team, this new stadium for Fulham FC just shows what happens when money is no obstacle (Fulham is owned by US billionaire Shahid Khan):

'Best stand in the world'? Fulham take fan experience to new levels

Have you ever packed your swimming costume to go and watch live football?

Season tickets in Fulham's Riverside Stand can already cost up to £3,000 - the highest in the league - and a new eight-tier hospitality section opened this weekend offering Michelin-star inspired menus, rooftop pool access on the three-floor 'Sky Deck', sweeping views across the River Thames and London, plus the best halfway-line seats.

Fulham is owned by US billionaire Shahid Khan and there is no doubt this an American sport-inspired hospitality experience - but it's actually more akin to a five-star hotel or a cruise ship, than other elite stadium hospitality like Tottenham or Everton's new ground.

BBC Sport was invited to take a look around on Saturday, as Fulham lost 3-1 to Everton.

The rooftop pool hadn't been finished - although you can't actually see the pitch from the pool. But that's deliberate. Watching the football feels like an afterthought.

That's because the space will be also open all year around as a private members' club when not used as hospitality spaces on matchday.

Architect Phillip Johnson of the firm Populous explains: "Usually when you build a new stand you try to maximise the view of the pitch. The Riverside Stands switches the focus to the river.

"It means it is designed unusually for a football ground. We took from the tradition of rowing and boat houses down in Putney."

And project director Glen Sutton said: "We thought way less about the average football experience. The design of this is much more similar to world-class hotels, cruise ships or restaurants than anything in football."

On non-matchdays, the stand remains open and also becomes a private members' club - targeted at local residents in the wealthy part of west London where Craven Cottage is situated.

The new Riverside Stand facilities are directly opposite the Johnny Haynes Stand. Built in 1905, it is the oldest stand in English football and a Grade II listed building, offering real heritage - but limiting opportunities to modernise that part of the ground.

Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh explained: "Fulham has always been blessed with a wonderful location but until today not had wonderful hospitality.

"This has been a long time coming. We wanted the best stand in the world. Going way back, this was a real vision for me - but we had delays with Covid, and needing a lease for the River Thames.

"I spoke to the Fulham Supporters' Trust when I first started 17 years ago, and they said two things were important to them. First, sustainability and then staying at Craven Cottage.

"They had moved before and it wasn't right. The owner Shahid Khan took the vision and put it on steroids."

Cant see a time when we are not playing there.

That said one less home ground is appealing...Id be happy with 50/50 Homebush/Leichhardt....but with that do we sacrifice most of our juniors?
