Ballin won't be able to change much unfortunately WD, our problems run far deeper than a bad hooker. In fact Robbie has been one of our best in our past few games, he made plenty of half-breaks today only to have no-one looming up in support.

Farahs few runs were ok, but his defence as has been mentioned here tonight, although impressive in amount of tackles, really isn't very tough. He gets pushed back and holds on for about 10 meters almost every time. Still, better than a lot of others out there, but so he should be given his dollar value. I reckon we'll get better all around service from a Balin.

The way Farah is tackling now where he basically absorbs the impact is to preserve his body and that is understandable, it is not his job to smash attackers in bone-rattling hits. Leave that to the bigger bodies.
Cameron Smith has been tackling that way his whole career, he never hits blokes with much force- just absorbs the impact. Farah is what 95 or so kilos? You can't expect him to iron out blokes that are 115 KGS plus, especially when he is making 40 or more tackles every week.
IMO Ballin is no more physical than Robbie in defence. When Ballin is fit he should be hooker with Farah at lock.

I don't expect him to hit hard, although on occasions it wouldn't hurt. But he should be able to effect a tackle and stop the go forward of a player much better than he does. Opponents make easy meters by simply running at him. Pretty sure players now have attacking stats that show how much ground they make once contact has been made although I can't recall what they call it. Therefore, I assume that they would also have stats on those defenders that allow meters to be made in defence once contact had been made. Farah would be one that ball runners look for.

^Metres after contact is what they call that stat you are talking about WD. Sure the opposition would pick Farah out to run at, but that happens to all the hookers in the comp that is why they make 40,50 tackles every game. They are the smallest of the forwards for each team and also to take thespark out of their running games.
