That's about what the ground announced said the crowd was. In any case, most left with a grin on their face, and possibly a little damage to the coronaries!
The game itself was a shot in the arm for us, and at the very least restores self-belief. Considering the inexeperience within the side, and a sprikle of a below par opposition, let's take the 2 points as a sign of better things to come. There are still many, many things to fix - however, at least there are small signs of the team wanting to be better, and that has to be a positive.
It is evident, when looking at the size of our players, that we lack a "wreckign ball" in the side. Stefano showed much better form in the second half, and lead upfront.
Seyfarth is, in my opinion, a player that, under the proper coaching, could develop into a much better ball playing forward.
As good as Sezer with his kicks, we still lack a thinking half-back. I got the sense that at critical times we lacked game management.
And lastly, we really need to follow the man with the ball - I think there were many times when we just stood there, watching rather than supporting the player.
But this is for Benji to address, with the team. For now, let's savor the feeeling. Tomorrow is another day. And a well done to all the debutants.
PS - I am keeping my Leichhard Oval 8th wonder of the world sign..a classic!
