-9 Points Difference

2 wins, 5 losses and we're only -9\. We have the 7th best PD in the comp. We've lost each game pretty closely and lost games to some decent sides in Melbourne, Cronulla and Parramatta who are all top 6 and losses to Newcastle and GC were both away from home.

Is it as dire as it appears?

They have been in a position to win every match this season. Disappointing Brooks and Moses couldn't get Wests across the line tonight, but at least they got to see how a true professional halfback closes out the game.

They will come good, they are not that far away.

It was dumb to panic like they did .
Moses wasn't in perfect position , two more hit ups would have seen them in a perfect position and even you would've kicked a field goal !

The bigger question for me was why we were going to Moses. Brooks should have been first choice - didn't he nudge a 45m FG to beat Parra last season? Even the effort tonight was hit very sweet. Brooks should have been demanding the ball, not Moses.

-9 is encouraging given we are 2 and 5.

However the club should not accept the mediocrity of close losses.

Bottom line is the clubs needs to sign 1 or 2 really established players.

Then all of a sudden close losses become close wins.

Same story for years.

Ive given up calling for current origin quality leaders to be recruited years ago…..it doesnt happen at WTs

Once every 6-7 years it happens

We got Prince and Hodgson in 2004

We got Lote and Ellis in 2010

Look what happened the year after those signings…..

Every other season were going ot the recycle bin or the two dollar shop doing our best.

I just don't see Brooks being a successful career half back

Apart from maybe Sandow , I just never seen a bloke take the wrong option so often

I have thought the same thing about Brooks this year but I think tonight he was good. I just hope he can maintain and improve on that performance.

5 losses in a row, in any circumstance, is dire.
The issue I see is that there's no improvement. We still make the same mistakes and have the same weaknesses as when JT took over, and as much as he talks a good game, progress is not being made on the pitch.

Once again, I'm with you MacDougall. I'm as disappointed as anyone with five straight losses but I think, overall we are on the right track. Our defense is much improved and there's no doubting our attacking ability with a some of the slickest tries of the year coming from us. Clearly, our lack of consistency for 80 minutes, lack of execution at times and our young halves being prone to crucial mistakes at critical moments has cost us. However, I think that the team will eventually put it together and we'll get on a roll at some point. It may not save our season in terms of semi finals but I think things will eventually click…...

Honestly the team's not too bad, and have only had one really bad game against Newcastle. It's unfortunate that hasn't translated into premiership points, we're probably a couple of wins better than the ladder would suggest.

It's disappointing and frustrating but not "dire"…far from it. That was a hell of a gutsy effort by the boys. Lots of positive signs for the short- and long-term future I think.

5 losses in a row isn't a dire situation? Doesn't matter how you package it and present it, doesn't matter that sure we were robbed yesterday twice, the penalty try and the pass to Koro. Nor the 2 point loss to arguably the worst team in the comp who at that point hadn't won a game, the Knights the previous week, it doesn't matter.
Nothing speaks louder than the facts, 5 losses in a row. That's all that matters.

I agree. I don't think we are far off becoming a good team.

This comes down to personalities IMO. Brooks is way too reserved, Moses is more vocal. One of the reasons why Moses needs to run the side. Brooks doesn't have it in him to show frustration (not J Reynolds type frustration but you know what I mean) but Moses does.

For those not sure of the rules. Golden point counts in the F/A.

On the NRL site.

The nrl.com Ladder shows Wests Tigers F= 148, A= 157, +/- = -9

I only watched the final 20 minutes yesterday and it looked like a good old arm wrestle. Having said that I think our next win will be against the Knights, by which time Taylor will probably be gone.

I still don't get it…...not every team will play extra time this year so its unfair to for and against.
