Wow. Really puts things into perspective. God bless Lleyton and his family and thankyou Wests Tigers for showing such compassion to such a brave little boy and his family.*Goes off looking for tissues now*

Yes ….... you have summed it up perfectly Suze. Its always hard to know why people so young have to suffer ...... its one of lifes great mysteries I suppose. I think most of us will remember this gesture probably moreso than the actual game in years to come.

It makes you proud to be a Wests Tigers fan doesn't it.

You're right, Knuckle. I think we will all remember that little boy taking the team onto the field - and yes, I am very proud to be a Tigers fan

I heard or read somewhere that Proton has given their box to Lleyton and his family this weekend for the Storm match. Wonder if he'll get to run onto the field with his heroes again.

well done proton, it would be great to see Lleyton run the team out at Leichhardt, it was a hit at Campbelltown.

PROTON'S ACT OF KINDNESS TO LLEYTON GILES

Long time Wests Tigers major sponsor Proton Cars Australia have made a special gesture to the family of little Lleyton Giles.

Touched by what the Wests Tigers did at Campbelltown Stadium for their brave five-year-old fan in his battle against a terminal liver condition,
Proton Cars Australia have donated their corporate box to the Giles family for Sunday’s home match against the Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt Oval.

Billy Falconer, General Manager Sales and Operations, Proton Cars Australia, said the company was more than happy to assist the family.

“When the Wests Tigers organised such a beautiful moment for Lleyton and his family at Campbelltown Stadium, it touched all of us in the Proton corporate box that day,’’ Falconer said.

“I then heard the Ray Hadley interview on 2GB with Lleyton’s father about how special that day was for them, so I thought the least we could do is donate the Proton corporate box to the Giles family at Leichhardt and allow them to have an enjoyable experience in the comfort of their own private box.

“We all saw how special Robbie Farah, Benji Marshall and the rest of the Wests Tigers team made little Lleyton feel and to finish it off with the players forming a pathway up the tunnel for Lleyton after the game really touched all our hearts.

“It just makes you realise how special and precious life really is.

"Sometimes we take things for granted and it was moments like that Sunday afternoon at Campbelltown that makes you realise we are all equal and should enjoy the time we have with our families.

“As a major sponsor of the Wests Tigers for the last 5 years, Proton staff and guests have had several opportunities to enjoy a day at the football in a corporate box with our families and we know how special the day can be.

"We hope Lleyton and his family enjoy the last home game for the Wests Tigers and take with them plenty of memories.

“On behalf of everyone at Proton Cars Australia, I wish Lleyton and his family all the best."

The Giles family held a special party for Lleyton with close friends last Sunday before they “cheered on” the Wests Tigers to victory over Parramatta from their lounge room.

“The amount of kind words, support and love shown to Lleyton and our family from Wests Tigers supporters has been incredible,’’ said Wes Giles, Lleyton’s father.

“We can’t thank the Wests Tigers enough. A big thank you also to Proton Cars Australia for their kind generosity. This is unbelievable.”
