I dont believe were respected…..I believe other clubs and players dont know what they'll get, theyre wary cause on our day we can be good, but I dont think we have uniform respect for consistency, toughness and attitude...we get walked over too often for that to happen
We turn up occasionally, we go missing often, our defence has generally always been weak as P, we play better in a touch footy type environment than a tough hard forwards battle...that doesnt earn you respect- imo

I'm a Wests Tigers fan. We should only be one club and we should act as a club. I think a big problem under Sheens was that the NRL team and state cup teams were completely segregated and different (tho nto entirely his fault). We should be one pool of players, one club culture from which we field two teams - the best in the NRL and the reserves in the state cup. Instead of these 25 and those 25, it should be these 50.

Yep,its a no-brainer as the JV moves forward,the new rulers(Commission) have to look at a genuine Reserve Grade Comp. with some sort of status.

I guess this is kind of the end of an era. We had a bit of a disasterous start between 2000-2002, weren't competitive on the field, couldn't lure players to the club, teething problems with the joint venture.

The Sheens era has been fantastic. I feel that he has brought respect to the team. We are now an established entity in the league community, we've moved on from those Lamb days, have a clear style, bought some brilliant players and produced some greats as well in Benji and Farah.

The future looks bright. I think the only issue in the past is that we've had great juniors and we've struggled to really utilise the talent. From the 2009 GF, only 1 player is in our starting squad (Woods). It's really small when you compare it to the Bronco's 2008 squad (Hoffman, Yow Yeh, Hunt, McGuire, McCullough, Dodds, Glenn, Lui).

Hopefully we can develop players from this squad into NRL players, as opposed to relying on purchasing players. It's the only way you can really be consistently under the salary cap,

Unfortunately Dwyer suffered a major injury and Lui is a complete moron, otherwise our 09 NYC squad did produce NRL quality players.

Andrew That kind of comment really shows you have no idea mate. If not for the magpies we would be ready to fold as a club. Balmain are broke and the magpies with their 2 leagues clubs are keeping the club moving. The debacle that is going on with the Tigers leagues club and the Greens ruining the plans at present the magpies are very important to the whole setup. Mate i am an ex magpie tragic and i have embraced the joint venture and Balmain to boot. We have over 200 years of histiory together and hope the WESTS TIGERS prosper for many decades to come.

Hopefully Balmain get their Development through in the near future and can contribute more to WT financially, they are doing things right at the Junior Rep level and are contributing heavily in the player department. They aren't in the best situation financially but fingers crossed that things improve here moving forward.
Wests have been contributing more than their fare share financially and I am sure everyone is grateful to them for that, they need to improve at Junior Rep level and when both Balmain and Wests improve the areas that are weak in currently there will be no stopping the Mighty Wests Tigers.

Old maxim…"Winning Begins in the Front Office". I think it was Jack Gibson who said that, i dunno. Todd Greenberg's work at the Bulldogs since 2008 is probbably the perfect example of what that saying means. I wonder what happens at our front office sometimes. It makes me nervous.

I hope that the Board and CEO make the right call on our coach. I really do. I hope they don't go for the cheap option, or a compromise, or another former player. I don't know how to say it except.."please don't get all political with each other, just get the right guy for the job".

Seeing our Kids do so great this season kinda eases a bit of the frustration from our lousy season. I hope who ever comes in has both eyes open and can get this club peforming to its full potential.

For all the pleasantries in the media, the reality is that we have sacked our coach and in the absence of getting another head coach role, he is going to hang around looking over the shoulder of the new coach. More likely than not, he will be a hindrance and stifle the introduction of new and fresh ideas that can take the club forward.

He has to hang around because we can't afford to pay him out $900k. We are $450k short…....why? That $500k would be real handy.....
