Former Wiggles performer Greg Page sang and danced his way to riches — but has lost substantial sums of money in the global financial crisis.

Page's management has approached media outlets with revelations the founding Wiggles member and songwriter has lost a large amount of his personal fortune as a result of collapsed property investments, A Current Affair reports.

Page, who wore the yellow skivvy in the popular children's entertainment group, has not disclosed how money much he has lost.

But it is believed he may be forced to sell his $7 million home and his collection of Elvis memorabilia — reportedly the fourth largest in the world and estimated to be worth $4 million.

Page left the Wiggles in 2006 due to a blood-circulation illness that left him suffering from fatigue and dizzy spells, rendering him unfit to continue with the group's demanding live show schedule.

The Wiggles for several years now have hovered around the top of the BRW's top 10 list of Australia's richest entertainers, taking out third spot in 2010 with earnings of $33.5 million from live performances, merchandising and television endorsements.

It is thought when Page left the group he received a severance payment of up to $50 million, on top of his earnings from more than 15 years with the Wiggles, A Current Affair reports.

Page started his own property development business about 18 months later, buying and selling multi-millionaire homes in the Hills district, in Sydney's north-west.

The Nine Network's finance editor Ross Greenwood said: "I've seen one of these luxury homes because I went and gave a speech for Greg Page to a group of investors.

"What I saw was one of the most elaborate, magnificent properties that I'd ever wished to imagine seeing in my life. But I wondered: who could ever afford to live there?"

Page is expected to reveal more details about his financial woes in a tell-all autobiography to be published next month.

Publicity stunt for the autobiography that coincidentally comes out next month ?

I don't think this guy would ever have financial difficulties.
50 million + what he made over his 15 years with the money making entertainment force.

He might of bought some houses that are struggling to sell so he sold his house worth 7 million & Elvis collection supposedly worth 4 million… He's not doing it tough at all.

Could be so much worse.

gee I hope he doesn't have to sell his $7m house and move into a $3m house, that would be terrible.

The Blue Wiggle is the Tiges fan by the way.

Boo Hoo , maybe he should get a job , i know people who are raising a family on 40K per year , or is that in humane for a wiggle ?

I calculated Greg earned ~$150M during his time at the wiggles…He got a $50M payout when he left....Now the story didn't go into detail how much he lost...but I doubt he lost all of it...even if he lost $50M its a huge story...but he'd be left with $100M...its enough for him not to claim Centerlink!...seriously that was a nothing story last nigh on ACA...

Exactly. And as far as I know he isnt a tigers supporter.

He is still worth millions. Boo hoo to him. Wake up and live in the real world.

What the $50mil+everything he earned during his time in The Wiggles wasn't enough for him to live in? Even if you put it in the bank and lived off the interest you'd be sweet - he just sounds incredibly greedy. I mean how many did he buy if he actually had to borrow money instead of buying them outright? Or if he did buy them outright what's his problem.

Sympathy from me = zero… Same with John Burgess and his alleged financial issues or anyone else who was too stupid and/or greedy with their considerable fortunes and urinated it against a wall.

That doesn't sound like ACA! Yeah sounds like a load of horse droppings doesn't it? As someone else pointed out seems an amazing co-incidence he is on ACA just before his autobiography comes out although whoever does his PR has gone off to early. Get the book out first champ, then spruik! Standby for an exclusive in New Idea to the same effect…

I have no pitty what so ever for people who loose money due to investments… the whole point of investing in anything is that there is an associated risk!

Its ok if your churning over the dosh and making money from nothing... but the day it all comes falling down... and that money turns back into nothing, its poor guy. Pshhhhhhhh

Investing is a less frowned upon form of gambling. If you can't manage risk or handle losing out, don't do it.

I thought he got divorced a couple of years back too, ex-missus must have bled him dry

that ^

If it is true he got a 50 million payout not including previous career earnings and has flushed a lot of it away with bad investments ,I'm sorry I feel no sorrow . He should of invested more wisely and not been greedy If 50 million is not enough to put in bank and live off interest well I don't know what will be ????

Sorry forgot to add I bet when all is said and done he will be better off than 99% of us on this forum and still have his Elvis collection

Am I missing something or did this guy actually negotiate his departure from The Wiggles without including continuous royalties?

Crazy.

He got $50 mil lump sum and assuming he has writing credits for the songs they recorded during his time there, he'd still be raking in a small fortune in royalties.
