ACTION ALREADY FOR 2013

I'd would have "Maybe" agreed with ya Watto… UNTIL the Warriors final last year...
He made some VERY POOR choices in attack....

Gamebreakers should get that sort of money - and he's no gamebreaker.
No doubt a good halfback but at that money no thanks.

I think the 850k is based on after the TV rights deal goes through and if you include third party deals also

Some club will pay 850k for Cronk and that will be an acceptable price for a few NRL stars on that format

Theres no reason why we should even contemplate signing him for 850k. When you have Marshall and Farah in the same side you don't need to pay that much for a halfback

How many Minor Premierships have Farah and Marshall lead us too?

Seriously guys, is everyone happy with being knocked out of the comp before the BIG one???

The guy has lead his team to 4 Minor Premierships and 2 Grand Final Victories…

Its a no brainer for my liking!

I'd sign Walsh for a fraction of that and I reckon we'd still win the Big Dance

To afford him we would have to probably let 2 marquee players go. Lote would be the first obvious one, but which other one would you be prepaired to sacrafice?

Possibily Heighno? How old is he now?

Blair was the obvious forwards leader last year for melbourne and the driving force for their go forward which gave Cronk the room to do what he does. Without Blair there this year, I'd be interested to see if their go forward is the same and if Cronk will be the same type of player because of it. He'll have a lot more responsibilities this year as he'll be more of a go to man now than in previous years. If he's worth $850K this is the year he'll prove his worth.

He's 29\. You would think he would see out his contract at the end of next yr and go overseas with Ellis. Would we be willing to release 1 of them a yr early? Cronk is a pipe dream. I think we'd be better focusing on someone more realistic or one of the young guys we already have

To get Cronk we would have to hack our team to pieces in order to fit him in the cap. With Marshall/Farah that would be a pointless exercise.

Definitely a pipe dream.

I'd say our current Playing Roster is costing us $7M. Judging by the continuing increase in revenue to the club since Humpty has taken over, I reckon we could easily afford $8M.

Now because we have money doesnt mean we should spend it, but if it means we could secure the services of Cooper Cronk, as a business person I'd take the risk. The same goes for Slater or many other Maquee Players. I'd rather them play for me, than have to play against them…

Its just business!!!

Waste of keyboard strokes talking about Cronk.

Will this darn off-season never end!!!

C'mon Helmesy you wouldn't be salivating like the rest of us if the SMH had a picture showing Humphrey's ,Sheens and Cronk sitting down having coffee and croissants and shaking hands at the end of the meeting
