Was there a list on this thread of key players available in 2013? Halfbacks and fullbacks in particular?

Dugan is signing 1 year at a time, probably hoping to raise his value after another injury plagued year and before the new TV rights are decided.

And the Raiders fans I know are absolutely fuming over it.

Alot always try and compare past eras based on the present day. I wonder if we did it in reverse.

It would be interesting to see Slater run into an Eadie, Raper, McCarthy or even a Blocker under the rules and refereeing of their eras… I have a feeling if the contact was made early Slater may have had little to no impact on a game and would only get a job as a sand boy?!

disagree completely. Players hit harder now than in previous eras, been proven scientifically, makes sense has they are now faster, bigger and stronger. A player with speed, game awareness and agility like slater would have been a star in other eras.

There are players whose skill set in the modern game would not transfer back to other eras and vice versa.

Aiden Tolman is a good example, a very good player in the modern game, i feel he may have offered little in previous eras, the work horse metre eater is valuable in this era, not so much in others.

In general the human race gets better at things, same goes with sport, the standard of play generally continues to behave.

"Hit harder now than in previous eras"?

Ask anyone who has been hit by Brian Clay, Peter Diamond, Ron Coote, Arthur Beetson etc etc.

- Ellis will go home at the end of 2013;
- If Fults keeps his form from last year, we'd be nuts to let him go;
- Galloway will be a most definite resigning, along with Farah;
- Rhino will probably go to ESL;
- Sheens has huge wraps on BMM, he will take over Ellis' role I reckon;
- Spencer and Reddy's retention will be a lottery, depends if they play well above expectation. Reddy wasn't even offered a contract by Parramatta so he'll be desperate to perform to secure another contract, whether it be with Wests or another club.

I suppose 2012 will decide their fates… I wouldnt say any one of them is a priority this far out. They are all getting on in age except BMM and he is still a lottery.

We cant keep them all, and we should also have in the back of our minds to not keep them too long?!

Bring on 2012 and then lets decide!!!

I think we will re-sign Farah, Fulton, B.M.M, Big Red,& maybe Rhino & Reddy if he plays well, I think Ellis has said he will be heading back to England after 2013\. Spencer i guess it depends how he goes in the next two years.

Agree with Ellis and Heighno. Spencer won't stay, I'll make that prediction right now. Galloway and Farah should be re-signed. Not sure on Fulton, the club has some pretty decent backrowers coming through and I'll reserve judgement and see how Shaun Spence goes this year. Same applies with Reddy.

Priorities for me at this stage are..

Matt Groat, Jacob Miller, Beau Ryan,Lote Tuqiri and possibly Tim Moltzen,

- Lote will move on, we cannot afford him after this year;
- Matt Bell will be a minimum contract signing. If he proves his worth, Sheens may keep him on;
- Mitch Brown will never get a full time FG start at the Tigers, he should move on if given a good enough opportunity;
- Chisholm, Grant, Spencer and Humble are all lottery players. They were all signed for depth although Humble and Grant are most likely to play FG IMO. Grant will be Lote's successor if he pans out;
- Utai will enjoy his last season with us this year, if he is given another year, he will play it out on a second tier contract;
- Groat and Miller are both priorities IMO;
- Moltzen will definitely stay with us.

I dont have to ask anyone a subjective question, the impact is measurable, and the impact now is higher than it ever has been.

Im sure if those guys trained full time they would hit just as hard or harder.

Players are protected now with high tackles and the agression taken out of the game, but in terms of impact it is at it highest level ever.
