ADAM BLAIR IS SHOCKING!!!!

I remember reading an article on Keith around two years ago. He said he had spoken to the coaches about how he could improve his game. They told him to stop looking for second phase play with every run he makes. Sometimes it's best to just cart the ball forward and get the set going rather than always looking to get the ball away. Since then I can definitely say his form has improved since then. Maybe Blair needs the same speech?

Its probably best to compare Blair with other test back rowers on similar coin.

Compare him to the likes of say Paul Gallen, Luke Lewis, Simon Mannering, Sam Thaiday and Gareth Ellis.

You'll then see just how excessively over rated and overpaid he truly is.

In the pre-game show last night they had him compared to Nathan Hindmarsh, who had him covered by almost double in every stat they put up.

Blair had a great game last night scored a try didn't make any errors or penaltys he looked dangerous when he had the ball

Exactly.

Blair is ok. I mean he is average. Probably even below average. During the whole season he hasn't stood out and done much at all. He is taking up a hell of a lot of cap space and not really producing anything more than what every other AVERAGE run of the mill back rower does.

His standard this year has been not what I would expect of a state of origin/ international level forward which is what his salary would indicate. I dont think he even makes the NZ side this year. He is certainly no work horse, and will never be one.

He has had two or three ok games this year all against the bottom two teams in the league. Let's see him rip in and have a blinder in the next 4 games. I want to see him have a 150+m game with a line break or two against the dogs, chuck in 45 tackles and we'll talk whether or not he is a waste of money and a dud buy.

Until this happens he is a dud buy. I think Bell has been better and Bell probably costs 1/10th the amount.

I'm in no way defending Blair, but I always get a laugh out of people who think they know what he is getting paid…..

I'd be surprised in the extreme if he was taking up 10% of the cap with his so called 450k deal that some on here truly believe.

I think that if you shared the top 25 money evenly, then it's about 175k or so, with minimum wage at 55 or 60 I think.

With Marshall, Farah, Ellis taking 1.5 between them, that leaves 3mil for the other 22......

I suspect he is around the 250-280 mark.

Still not doing that amount of work for his money, but at least he isn't as far away from his money as some would suggest.......

Ha ha ha - you're kidding me aren't you. I said the three shared 1.5 mil, but I didn't say equally…......Der......640k + 520k + 340k for example is still 1.5mil shared between three of them. You work out who has which figure........

Apparently my follow up comment to the sarcastic reply is not acceptable to the moderators, but you get the drift.

if you're talking the amount a player is paid under the $3m cap amount, I doubt anyone is on $640k right?

maybe that much with 3rd party agreements not counted under the cap

Spot on,he is on no where near the $450k as suggested, you also have to factor Lote's money in there too,and he is on over $300k,way too much for his return in the last 2 years.
Blair would be way more effective if our fullback followed on his left shoulder,he is always holding the ball out but there is no one to take it,also Robbie could utilise his quick play the balls more,Blair is no dud, just ask the players.

Our fullback in 2013 will follow our forwards waiting for a chance for some second phase ball

The most important stat there is 'offloads'. I don't understand why someone (e.g. whoever is playing fullback) doesn't tail him and pick up on his offloads. There is almost always a moment at least when he is being tackled when he could offload to someone tailing him. Utai, Ryan? He just dies of loneliness at the moment.

Yeah, exactly. This where I find that our communication is in need for a fix.
Watching the Bulldogs play and listening to the commentators - "Their communication, line speed is excellent" and there were a few other praises in there, but if players knew where to be and when by talking to each other than we could look a little more dangerous. That being said our attack was sharp on Monday Night, imagine what it could look like

x2

He had his arm ready for offloads countless times Monday. Also hit holes numerous times. Maybe it's taken him a whole season but if he backs his performance up Sunday than maybe the team has finally grown together

Blair has been terrible all year, all last year and the year before. Why we got rid of Fifita who is twice as good as Blair, and Gibbs who is 5 times as good has been the worst recruitment decision of all time.

In saying this, Monday was Blair's best game by far and he almost matched the stats of Cashmere and Bell both who played about 15 minutes each
