Adam Blair Released ??

Find it hard to believe as the Storm have salary cap issues with the big three , if its true that means we are going to be paying him to play for someone else Farken Sheens has really cost this club a lot of dollars in players playing for other clubs not to mention himself no wonder we have no money. :astonished:

Well we knew the clean out is happing lets start it we have to do it and it may take 1 to 2 years until we are a top class team but we need this to happen first and sign good players.

Blair will always be a reminder to us of humpty and sheenius failings as a coach and CEO

For me Blair leaving should only happen on one proviso. That we don't owe him a cent moving forward. Not even 10%. We're already paying out other players. I'd rather hold him onto him for another 12 months and force the form out of him. That's what happened on Friday night. He got thrown into prop and was forced to do the dirty work. if that's what it takes, then so be it. I hope the club has a deal which works out best for them and not "what's best for both".

I totally agree with this. We need to be smarter when it comes to buying players and if it doesn't pan out accept it.

If Blair is going we should not pay one cent nor do we keep him in first grade, straight to state cup bench warmer where he belongs!

THE first tentative steps have been taken for Wests Tigers and forward Adam Blair to part company.

The Daily Telegraph understands Wests Tigers have privately spoken about the possibility of Blair leaving the club after this year, despite being under contract until the end of 2015.

It's understood Blair hasn't asked for a release. Yet.

The Wests Tigers-Blair marriage has been rocky from the start.

He signed a four-year deal with the club from 2012 for a reported $500,000 a season.

There is still a chance Blair will see out his time at Concord but it appears Wests Tigers wouldn't stand in the way if he sought a release. Sources linked Blair to Melbourne, where he played his best football under coach Craig Bellamy.

During his time at the Storm, Blair was among the best forwards in the game.

"Everyone knows what I can bring and how I can play," Blair said a fortnight ago. "I'm just not doing that enough for the team at the moment and for the people who want to see me do better for the team.

"All the little things, I think I do really well for the team - kick pressure, cleaning up the tackles. I think I do those really well. I think my attack is a little bit off at the moment but, once I fix that up, I think everyone will quieten up a bit."

Wests Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys did not return calls last night.

He did tell The Sunday Telegraph earlier this month that the Blair signing "hasn't worked out".

"You make big recruitment decisions all the time," Humphreys said. "Most saw Blair as one of the reasons why we started 2012 as premiership favourites."

and don't forget Mr. Humphries - let Fifita & Gibbs go - the heart and soul of the pack.

If we had signed Blair for a lot less money, we wouldn't be talking about this at all. We payed overs for this player and that's it. You can't blame Blair for taking the money, the problem lies in recruitment.

Those in charge at the club really need to come clean on why they let current NSW front rower Andrew Fifita leave the club. The next slap in the face for us will be the performances from Jacob Miller over in England, he will be dynamite, mark my words and all our supporters will be saying the same thing about him as they have said about Fifita, why did we let them go.

Oh pull your heads in all you whingers. The Blair signing, at the time, was considered by most to be a good move. His cost reflected his standing in the game at the time; he wasn't some nuffy from reserve grade. Same as releasing Fifita, it was not seen as a major loss at the time. If Gibbs had been retained, there would probably be complaints about how much time he has spent injured.

Hindsight can make a fool of everyone, so I don't understand people getting up in arms about solid decisions that didn't turn out as intended. Our coach and CEO have both been removed, I don't know how much more blood-letting will satisfy.

If our management only ever made 100% correct predictions, they should quit and instead spend their time winning lotto or running through bookies.

Every club in the competition has bought players who haven't worked out, and released players that have gone onto better things. It is naive to think we are alone here.

Are you kidding me? When we signed him, people here had mixed feelings. While he had been a great player in the past, the year we signed him (2011), he had a really average year. People on this forum even said they weren't sure what to think about the signing. Bellamy obviously was not bothered. If we had bought the 2010 Adam Blair, we would have been saying otherwise. <–- what 60% of comments said

Blair believes he isn't playing his best football at the tigers does he? Heres a thought Adam get off your ass and start playing because your the highest payed player at the club and you're not really playing to your full potential. I've said this 20 times tigers do not have a big three like melbourne who have slater, cronk and smith. Therefore you have to actually pull your finger out and work hard for the team. You've had a year to adjust at our club, you have played international football with Benji Marshall and represented the All-Stars with him so you should know how he plays as well as the rest of us. Your problem is that you don't get involved enough in both attack and defence. Braith Anasta has been at 2 other clubs before joining us even though he does the same bomb heaps of times that is besides the point, he is putting in more effort compared to you. So you want a release to go back to melbourne and do absolutely nothing but run off the big 3 but what will happen when origin comes around and the big 3 are out then what? You can either be a traitor and go back to Melbourne because next year when we play you we are gonna break your legs or stay with us and work hard and improve your defence and attack. Make your decision and make it the right one because I know that you can do better and you know that you can do better.

Just be aware , if we do let Blair go back to Melbourne we will be paying Melbourne the top up cash on blairs contract .Play him at prop and just hope the guy has a little bi of pride in him

Yep. Letting players go and topping up their contracts doesn't work. Play him at prop or lock and try and get as much out of him as we can.
