It was nice going up in 6's for once.

Yeah we would have lost that game in season 2019.

Not being negative but why does nobody mention Laurie's poor defence at the back?

Does not even look like tackling people out in the open (not so bad in the line).

Needs a lot of work in this area and quick.

Glad we got him but. heaps of upside ...

His defence is very good as is his positional play.

His positional play is BUT that makes it worse.

His defence out in the open when a break is made is not very good at all imo.

However, you keep believing it is.

didnt get all the stops this week but vs the raiders he held his own great

Strong performance by the Tigers. Away from home with a big crowd is a big step for
Some young players. That’s a top 8 side in the knights.

We have dealt with BJ who had glaring issues hopefully Madge further strengthens the team by dropping Mbye and Kepoa.

Jake Simpkin is the clear replacement for Mbye it’s time for Moses to be moved onto The Magipes. Not sure about left wing we have to give Kepoa a spell he’s in some trouble out there and needs a break from first grade. Cini, Fitzgibbon or Cooper may have to come in on the left wing.

But if you thought his defence was poor, i'd hate to think what you thought of Liddle's 7 missed tackles.

How bad was Liddle service was bloody rubbish

Credit to Brooksey, take a bow. Everyone's been critical of him this season and had my doubts but what a performance from him. Outplayed Pearce in his 300th.

I thought there was a noticeable drop in go forward when he was off and Mbye was dummy half.

I think Cini is the only one in the top 30 out of those 3

Been pretty impressive in reserves

Twice Doueihi kicked to the ingoal area when he should have looked up to find an obvious better option. Once to Liddle and once when a defender fell over in front of him.

I remember the latter - a missed opportunity for sure. Although to be fair he looked committed to the kick already. The whole team (except for Laurie) is still very rigid in attack. That's to be expected I guess. A few new players/positions, I'm sure they will all gel further with each game.

better overall performance for sure. Clearly madge has told AD to "take over" from brooks....

BUT, i still think we are for some reason playing on purpose very cumbersome, slow and linear in attack? it makes no sense.

Also, ***Jimmy doesn't really look like he's enjoying*** being close to Nofa....we need to give him the ball more, Nofa needs to stop being such a ball hog.

There looked to be something wrong with Jimmy early in the game, he looked to be sulking about something, lots of walking into position. Was quite worrying in fact. He didnt look right.

I noticed that late in the game Douiehi started to give him some early ball and he looked dangerous immediately. That pass was pretty impressive as well.

Mbyes dummy half cameo wasn't great. I'd rather his millions be invested in assisting the reggies. Also wondering if Talau was ok. I noticed him limping on the sideline and then Mbye at centre when he completely fluff that sitter. Any news there? And God I wish we had an offload in us. I hate it when we get cut to pieces with offloads. Yet we almost never look for a support player.

I am very worried about Liddle. Something is not right. His strength has always been good crisp service. This year his passing has been poor. Too many high passes, behind the player. It is really screwing our attack.

Mbye is not the answer but his passes are very accurate, just very slow.

Brooks sucks..

I know you are being sarcastic but credit where credit is due, Brooks had a pretty good game. Kicking was much better, general play was much better. 1 missed tackle that led to a try. But overall much improved. Though he outplayed Perace.

Yes he missed a tackle that lead to points but he didn't give up on the play and attempted to tackle Frizzell I believe..that's the difference

Exactly. I we are going to start cutting up a halfback for missing a tackle on a rampaging SOO backrower like Frizzell then there is a VERY small pool of players to choose from, maybe Joey.

For me, trying to remember...

**Good**

* Brooks, much improved
* Douehi stellar
* Forwards, hon mention Stefano looking like a real good buy
* Laurie
* Defense in the middle of the game, especially Tamou's knockon
* Could really see the confidence grow through the game till about the 20 minute mark
* Agent Shibasaki executed to plan
* Some passing by forwards in the middle eg. Twal nice to see

**Bad**
* Mbye at 9 stifled it, dropped that ball. His defense was good however some real strong tackles
* AJ "Flippers" Kepoa this kid needs a year or three in reggie to learn his craft. He has almost none of the winger skills. Does carry the ball up strong but finds anyway to stuff up a break.
* Rabbits next week
* Nofo first half, dramatically improved second. Just run hard and straight lad
* Realistically we scraped a win against a team decimated by outside back injuries and made 18 errors
* Still feel like we got killed in PTB speed, we seemed very sluggish towards the end
* Laurie still not getting the ball to be involved in the red zone

Just hoping the platform lays some confidence for the boys

I agree re Jimmy - he looked off for some reason - I also think he isn't getting enough ball but he is always heavily marked by the opposition - I just worry about his "mental" state and hope others are also aware and working with him - as mentioned, he always looks threatening when he gets the little amount of ball he gets, despite the heavy marking

Ill say my disappointments first then go on to applaud.

I was frustrated the 2 times Daine Laurie made a break off a kick return and we wasted them, those were 2 opportunities where the game could have gone in another direction in our favour. Well done to the kid he is absolutely smashing it so far.

**Luciano Leilua's** positioning, defence and effort are still extremely poor, that Frizell try was one I was shameful of because It was reminiscent of the roosters game. At the moment we dont have depth in that position. Garner has held his spot over Luciano imo. Blore couldnt come soon enough to provide depth.

To an extent, **Moses Mbye,** not that he did anything to warrant being dropped other than sitter but I think for the overall betterment of the team it would be to our benefit to include Jake Simpkin on the bench.

These were my major areas of concern

On the **positive** side of things.

I was extremely impressed with how **our halves** complimented each other and played individually. Both knew their roles in the team and executed a simple game plan. I want to give more credit to Brooks than Doueihi because of the criticism he has copped but both were great. Doueihi's goal kicking is coming along really well.

**Daine Laurie**, man this kid is becoming alot like Ben Barba with the way he runs. It is good to know the fullback situation is sorted with for a very long time. I have no words to say about him other than wow.

The **resilience** in making up from your mistake. When James Tamou dropped that ball the next set of defence he sprinted up out of the line and pressured the knight's attack and cut off the spread. He led the line speed and we got possession back. That is something I was happy to see the captain do and urge the rest of our players to do.

Lastly, **Stefano Utoikamanu** what a pleasant sight seeing a front rower score a try from 40m out the way he did, that was Eisenhuth-like. The short pass from Brooks was a beauty and he finished it off superbly. Well done young man.

Proud of my **team** last night, they played like a team and for each other. It means nothing now and we have to do the same next week and improve, if we dwell too much on this game we will end up how we did against the roosters. Go the tigers!

I like us to provide Laurie with the kick to the in-goal similar to the Tedesco - Brooks partnership.

YES!! This is what I was thinking the whole game, how good would it be to bring that back.

Surely you're not expecting a centre to get most of his ball from his outside winger?

The problem is our attacking emphasis on the left side towards Lucy. A little puzzling given how poor AJ has been.

I think JTJ and Nofo have both struggled to get into any game as the ball's not coming their way.

I get Nofa is the attacking focal on that side, but my problem with him is that he doesn't stay out on the wing, he always comes in, its as if he takes Jimmy out of the game by doing what JR is there to do. over and over again. Jimmy needs the ball, he at least runs straight and hard, nofa does that maybe 1/4 runs. It's infuriating.

My point being, i wish Nofa would stay on the wing, and allow Jimmy to be played into the match.

I thought Liddle was very bad yesterday but I agree the speed dropped when he went off.

For mine, Liddles service is fast but erratic. Mbye is very accurate, but slow.
