Does not even look like tackling people out in the open (not so bad in the line).

For mine, it has actually been his defence Ive been most impressed with. For a small body, he has been impressive and his positional play has been perfect. To me that has been as impressive as his attack.

I like us to provide Laurie with the kick to the in-goal similar to the Tedesco - Brooks partnership.

Did you see the Slater interview with Brooks the other week. Pretty much admitted to stealing that play from Brooks and Tedesco. I reckon that have a good chance of bringing it back now that the speed of the game is opening up the inside of the ruck.

Ill say my disappointments first then go on to applaud.

I was frustrated the 2 times Daine Laurie made a break off a kick return and we wasted them, those were 2 opportunities where the game could have gone in another direction in our favour. Well done to the kid he is absolutely smashing it so far.

**Luciano Leilua's** positioning, defence and effort are still extremely poor, that Frizell try was one I was shameful of because It was reminiscent of the roosters game. At the moment we dont have depth in that position. Garner has held his spot over Luciano imo. Blore couldnt come soon enough to provide depth.

To an extent, **Moses Mbye,** not that he did anything to warrant being dropped other than sitter but I think for the overall betterment of the team it would be to our benefit to include Jake Simpkin on the bench.

These were my major areas of concern

On the **positive** side of things.

I was extremely impressed with how **our halves** complimented each other and played individually. Both knew their roles in the team and executed a simple game plan. I want to give more credit to Brooks than Doueihi because of the criticism he has copped but both were great. Doueihi's goal kicking is coming along really well.

**Daine Laurie**, man this kid is becoming alot like Ben Barba with the way he runs. It is good to know the fullback situation is sorted with for a very long time. I have no words to say about him other than wow.

The **resilience** in making up from your mistake. When James Tamou dropped that ball the next set of defence he sprinted up out of the line and pressured the knight's attack and cut off the spread. He led the line speed and we got possession back. That is something I was happy to see the captain do and urge the rest of our players to do.

Lastly, **Stefano Utoikamanu** what a pleasant sight seeing a front rower score a try from 40m out the way he did, that was Eisenhuth-like. The short pass from Brooks was a beauty and he finished it off superbly. Well done young man.

Proud of my **team** last night, they played like a team and for each other. It means nothing now and we have to do the same next week and improve, if we dwell too much on this game we will end up how we did against the roosters. Go the tigers!

Good post. Would have to be the first time anyone in this forum has used the term "*Eisenhuth like"* as a compliment.

With Mbye.....his sitter was a bad miss and as you say he didnt do anything great or bad, but that kind of sums up exactly why he is picked and will probably continue to be picked. Do we all realise he was playing centre when he missed that sitter? During the game he filled in at 9 and centre and did a good (slightly better than passable) job at both.

Mbyes dummy half cameo wasn't great. I'd rather his millions be invested in assisting the reggies. Also wondering if Talau was ok. I noticed him limping on the sideline and then Mbye at centre when he completely fluff that sitter. Any news there? And God I wish we had an offload in us. I hate it when we get cut to pieces with offloads. Yet we almost never look for a support player.


I am very worried about Liddle. Something is not right. His strength has always been good crisp service. This year his passing has been poor. Too many high passes, behind the player. It is really screwing our attack.

Mbye is not the answer but his passes are very accurate, just very slow.

He used to have a running game, and that's now gone. His service has been terrible this year and his defence needs massive improvement. 7 missed tackles isn't good enough.

a lot of work to still be done defensively, but we were better. thought our fifth tackle options midway in the second half before we imploded were far better. high and deep into the corners and make them work it out of their own end. our forward pack were far better than theirs and the bench rotation with Joffa coming off the bench was excellent.

Doueihi and Brooks much better this week, worry about Luch defensively. hopefully Gebbie is fast tracked because we are in dire need of a consistent left winger.

Observations from the game
Laurie and Doueihi were superb
Stefano was great
Roberts isn’t getting anywhere near enough ball
AJ poor
Liddles service is waaaay too slow and misses too many tackles
Better from Brooks who seemed to enjoy AD running the show
Forwards held their own
Effort was really good, never gave up

Overall a lot of positives, thought the effort and attitude was really good.

We really need to start utilising JTJs pace in attack. This falls back on the halves.

His defence is very good as is his positional play.

But if you thought his defence was poor, i'd hate to think what you thought of Liddle's 7 missed tackles.

How bad was Liddle service was bloody rubbish

I thought there was a noticeable drop in go forward when he was off and Mbye was dummy half.

I;m a Liddle supporter but too often players had to stop on their run and reach back for his pass. His passes are crisp but his timing is way out.

Doueihi is running the show now - much more capable than Brooks (who doesn’t have enough between the ears to run the show). I like the idea of fast tracking Gebbie - he will add that X factor.
I love the jet but he doesn’t seem that interested, definitely not moving up in support close to the line when something could be on .. maybe he’s mentally calculating how much more dosh Brooks is on.

Not having a go at you TT here, just chose yours to hit reply to. Ive noticed how many posts in this thread have stated that Doueihi is running the show now and has taken over......but many of these same posts lament the lack of ball to our right side. Doesnt seem to fit for me.
