Aidan Sezer #279

Na… it’s a defender losing his feet and landing on the legs…
Sezer didn’t lose his feet though - he through them in the air…
He’s a goner
Problem for Seizer is he has already been done for one earlier in the year and copped a few weeks, he might get smashed by the judiciary now.

The biggest problem with the hip-drop rule is I frankly dont know exactly what is or is not a hip-drop, what the grading might be, and what isn't a hip drop but looks like a hip-drop and still gets a fine.

One of the few rules that feels like total pot luck to me.

Hip Drop:

Why hasn't one player sent to the Bin because of this, queried the Ref and asked "if the opposing player got up right away and played the ball, would I have been sent off and penalised"?

This isn't a hip drop, this is what they will rule a "dangerous tackle". Don't feel bad about it though, the NRL constantly goes against it's own video demonstration in regards to what a hip drop is so I don't think anyone truly knows.

Seems that, as a small guy, Sezer is not coping with the size of bodies he has to tackle in the NRL, and this is impacting his technique.

4 week suspension coming up. Doubt we will see him again in tigers colours. Now if we can just get that from Bateman and Klemmer we will still be shit but they also deserve to be nowhere near first grade.

Should have learnt from his first sin bin and suspension, Dumb mistakes cost us again and he needs to pay for those actions.

U are so wrong , do u really think that’s what he went into the tackle to do , he has a split second, the rule is bullshit , some walk away with no penalty others get heaps

When tackling from behind there is always a chance of a 'hip drop' or dangerous tackle. When we were young you were encouraged to leave your feet and dive with your body weight eventually on the opponents' legs. We have been charged frequently with hip drops after players claim to be injured. All have gone on to play a significant role in their team's eventual win. Makes you wonder.

This is left field stuff, sezers defence is very good but he is not directing play Galvin is doing it .
SO why not put him in as a lock forward and let him do a little ball playing , put young Latua in at 1/2 back , what would we have to lose and it would get the kid game time
Very good defence? - he’s looking at 2 months (out of 6) out for the way he defends.
Also saw him rush in, get no one and then stand there like a traffic cop while they scored yesterday….
He’s done nothing and wasn’t wanted in the esl for a reason…

Saw a post earlier in the year, Sezer is doing exactly what we expected (although it was meant in glowing terms) I couldn’t agree more…

That said, I’d like to see him stay on for a couple years in ressies and help those kids with the game - a role I feel he’ll end up with (doubt it will be here though)

Hmm he closely how he set his legs and shoulders, agree the rule is not clear but his technique is poor and lazy.

It was Jai Gray for peats sake the lightest guy on the park, not Jai Arrow.
There was no need for Sezer to have to use his body weight to pull him to the ground.

From other recent posts Bud played ok last week, not sure if our KOE has been played, and how he went ?
I think I would rather see Fainu Jnr play to be honest
Me too. But Latu doesn’t look fit enough to run on yet and bud played well last week, so I reckon he’ll get named.
But more than a few (maybe even several), fans on here will get a little upset. So it will be interesting reading on Tuesday arvo when Bud gets named.
