Let's look at Mr. McIntyre's last 4 games (when he should've been at his best)

Round 16 v Penrith - 53 mins, 7 runs only 37 metres. 39 tackles but he missed 6! WORST IN TEAM.
Round 17 v Manly - 33 mins. 7 runs 65 metres. Only 15 tackles buT 2 INNEFECTIVE.
Round 18 v Rabbits- 38 min. 8 runs 64 metres. 23 tackles but 2 MISSED. WORST OF THE FORWARDS.
Round 19 v Melbourne- 14 mins. 0 runs! 12 tackles 1 MISSED.

Bloke was defensively weak passenger and a plodding passenger in attack. Just as he was every game he played for the Magpies. He's not up to first grade.

Those stats don't differentiate between a tackle that hurts or a flop...and McIntyre wasn't a flopper.

Ar a good club Josh would be a very good bench player.
As a club we are looking to clear the decision for 2022, tough decisions made with McIntyre and Josh A

Thing is... it isn't really tough decisions that led to losing Mac and potentially Aloiai.

The Tigers wanted to keep both, and thought they had both. But completely bombed negotiations, according to whats being said around here.

Macca is a emerging player, needs another year to determine if he is a fake, fringe or for real. Now what about Josh, anything from head office.

100% on Mac.

I'd have liked him to stick around just to see which way he would head. It's not a terrible loss, just that he's the best we have - and especially for that money.

If the we can somehow replace him well, and Aloiai if that happens - then fine. I just don't see that happening this late.

Also like to add that Mac has actually shown a lot more than the highly touted Seyfarth.

Back to Josh A, My families absolute fav Tiger at the moment.

Forward pack Leader and an Absolute MUST.

3 more years NOW

“They have hit their ceiling” - What? This is for 2022 onwards when they have more money available. I think alot of us were ok with deadlines but 24 hours is ridiculous.

You have no idea how long this has been ongoing. We may have been in discussions with Josh for months and months and he may have been deliberating.

Tigers are in a difficult position, all clubs are, because the market is always fluid at all times and they need to commit funds or move on. That's the reason they moved on past Latrell once they met him, because they wanted the funds elsewhere.

Same with JAC, the "report" from POM is they were focused on JAC and let the McIntyre contract slide a little, which I personally don't mind, maybe they wanted the funds handy in case they needed to tip them in somewhere.

Now from a "human decency" position, sure, you would think a week or two is a good period of time to consider an offer.

However, by the same token, they've already had preliminary discussions with Josh as a fact, so he knows the general deal... he asked them for more. They said 10%, take it or leave it 24 hours. I don't see why that's so bad, you ask for more, they offer it to you but with a deadline. If you want more time, think over the old offer a bit more.

Tigers they were absolutely wrong - like they were about Tapau, Sironen and Suli.

Tigers weren't wrong on Taupau or Suli - Tigers scouted those players from other clubs. Taupau got a great offer we couldn't match and Suli was a miscreant.

I'm happy for Suli that he's turned it around but he had 3 warnings at Tigers and you can't let that stuff go unpunished.

It's the same with Matt Lodge and Robert Lui. It has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with having to discipline off-field indiscretions.

The issue for me is everyone remembers McIntyre hitting like an axe on occasion, but conveniently forget everything else. Maybe yes he does have more upside and I was looking forward to seeing that upside, if it existed.

But the coach and recruiter see and scrutinise McIntyre every single day. We can't forget that Madge gave Macca his debut, so he saw something, but also, according to reports they offered him low wage, which also tells you something about how they rated him.

There can be no argument that he's currently a fringe first grader, the question is does he go on to do good to great things at Titans. In which case it would, in retrospect, have been a mistake.

But I thought good things about players like Junior Moops and the dude literally disappeared after joining Melbourne.

I just received a message from my mate, it was a post/story from Josh's mate, if this is true it paints the club in a bad light.
Story say's Josh played all year with a broken wrist and a broken screw in the wrist, also says he only received 1 point in the best and fairest points this year.
Say's first offer was insulting, Josh asked for a revised offer, this was rejected and a deadline put on original offer.
I am unsure if this is legit, but my mate said he is gone just like McIntyre.
There is a little more in the story I received, but that is the gist of it.

Can someone please tell me a little more on contract negotiations?
I'm very disappointed with what I've read on here but would like to understand the process more, so basically want to know if Hartigan's recruitment procedure is under the club's directive or not.

I can see that players will need to be ‘given’ points for best and fairest from now on.

Seems getting only 1 point has really upset Josh.

I fear we might lose a few more players because there must be a few who didn’t score even 1 point all year.

I suppose it goes something like this ...
We want you at the Tigers next year and are willing to meet your pay demands.

Who are you... Wests Tigers? No, I want 20% more.

Ah, OK we will up it to 20% more. All good?

Sorry your coach is Michael Maguire? Another 20%!

Mmm, alright another 20% it is then. Sign here please.

Wait, my manager agreed to terms at Souths for 40% less because they are a really good team full of good people. Sorry.

I’m different to most on here, I don’t give a flying stuff about some of our players leaving. They were part of the team that got flogged in every game for the last 10 weeks.

I reckon more should be let go.

I want to know how Packer got points in every game he played..that comeback game where he played 13 mins had 1 run and got sent to the sin bin then suspended for 2 weeks was a ripper..
