Amateurism vs Professionalism

Notwithstanding the enormous difference in the calibre of the roosters, they are a professional outfit, from the top to the last player on their roster.
Tonight, I don’t think any of us can find any reasons for our loss other than the huge difference in class. To think we were going to win this game (on the back of the last two) was a little utopistic, if not altogether unrealistic.
What the game has shown (to me) is that it was like watching amateurs playing professionals. Note, I am not lamenting a lack of effort (admirable) but rather what the benchmark needs to be if we are to be (and remain competitive).
Melbourne next week will be another chance to see if at least we (as a collective club) have learned something from tonight.
PS - Ironically we did a lot worse with the older players returning. At least one seemed more intent in causing trouble than getting down to what he is paid to do.

Hopefully the trouble maker decides to leave us at the end of the year,i certainly won't miss his antics

Look at the stats for that game:
They are almost even. But we are flogged 40-6.

Oh look Young and Tupou score 4 tries against us. Oh we had rookie Faatape on the wing with another Rookie Laulillii... JEZ

Back line defense MATTERS! Cmon it's not rocket science here...
Naden can either be a winger who can defend better then most OR a center who can't seem to do jack. Olam really beefs us up in the center.

It just means the Raiders was a fluke,

Hah!!
Yeah and Marshall thinks hes Vice Captain material...says a lot about Marshall

Bateman is a fraud, cant play footy and pretends to be tough...wanker
Funny I watched him play thinking to myself that’s the exact attitude we need our whole side playing with.
If some of our ‘monster forwards’ approached a tackle the same way we would get on top of those teams.
Thought Klemmer was way worse.

You don’t fluke flog someone.
We have demolished two teams this year who have been in the top 8 regularly for the past 5 years.
We’ve also done this with vastly different playing squads.
Which....

Points to a fluke!

Our team is clearly finding and trying different styles. We picked a fast team vs Raiders and on that day it paid off. We picked the same team vs Roosters and the same team fell on it's face.

Were Fluking it.
Were just trying stuff and seeing what works and what falls on it's face.

I thought veing back klem and Bateman didn't work. Bateman was a rag doll and klemmer was running with no intent. Should've left the team as ut was and let them learn.
