He actually essentially blamed injuries and our "11 players out" for today's performance. Unbelievable.

Dogs had guys who may well never play NRL again, and more out than us...and had won twice all year...and have no attack...and rookies in their spine...

Madge is doing the worst thing possible now. He is acting in self preservation, rather than doing what is best for the team and players. He takes zero accountability.

Unbelievable. That will do me for 2022.

Madge is a compulsive liar who will be found out in the next couple of weeks.

Please explain???

Madge is a reputable man , Brooks on the other hand cannot run a footy side , we would have to pay 600 to get rid of him

We had the ball on their line for four sets and even I, sitting at home, knew what our plays would be. Hit ups near posts, one short ball for a backrower, kick. Rinse and repeat. **Zero variety all season.**

Defensively we have had no line speed **all season**. Defensively we have been vulnerable in the same spots **all season**.** Every opposition team knows it.

We have been blown out of more games first 30 mins than any Tigers team in history. Not ready, not prepared. Lots of our points have come when games are dead and opp has stopped caring. First 30 is the key and we have not been ready way, way, way too many times to make a case for keeping the coach.

Those who want to keep the coach are basically just doing so based on what came before him. Essentially, "the chef can't cook...but let's not remove him as the restaurant was no good before he arrived".

Rather than, "maybe getting a chef who knows how to prepare food 'might' actually help with the quality of the meals".

I doubt we sack him as it is too late and there is no window left to recruit now. We should just buckle up and get ready for rock bottom in 2022 probably. But there is no real denying anymore that this team is really, really poorly coached.

People will jump on and say "but he does not miss tackles or lack energy or come up with dud play after dud play in opp 20"...

But getting players to improve in all those things are his job.

Anyone who can't see it by now...well, all power to you.

**It will be a long off season, but we will all be back for 2022. Let's hope things change.**

well said. i've been saying this for a while too

Every year when we’ve missed out on the finals, I’ve seen something that’s given me some false hope for the next year ..

This year I genuinely have nothing ..

May be the calm before the Tigers storm!

Should we call up a coach from left field Freddy fitler? Mathew johns has spoken about his desire for him and joey to coach or what about the walker brothers?

I'd be looking at a John Morris, Cameron Ciraldo or Krstian Woolf type coach with Sheens performing a mentoring role

Why did we not get John Morris in our team as an assistant when he was avaliable

Did you see the Doco? If Meriton sponsor says change the coach the coach will change . Pascoe is in awe of him and seems to be angling for a job in his organisation

Have a nice break....but understand that the team today had fringe RESERVE GRADERS playing....if AD ,Laurie Mbye,JTJ,BJ,AJ had played it would at least had NRL and rep players playing...big difference...its what happens when you only have kids and ressies as back up...

We were playing the worst team in the comp that ha only won TWO games all year.

That point seems lost on the Madge lovers, the Dogs concede over 30 points a game, we were camped on their line for 4 and 5 sets and couldn't score a point

A lot , like a real lot, of things are lost on the Madge “ lovers””. I really cannot comprehend what he has done to warrant such rabid support and advocacy… this putrid display we get on the field had to be accountable to someone, and he’s coached them Einstein

Yes correct,if we had a decent playmaker and leader out there today it may have been different....

And a competent coach to give them direction and strategy then yeah we’d definitely be less hopeless

Once again blame Madge and take the heat off the bloke who controls the team out on the field,no idea how to convert field position into scoring points,we had a heap of sets in their zone and couldnt get A POINT....

There are some basic under 13's errors going on here with professional NRL players. Guys who can't catch and pass and can't tackle. Running into each other and not calling for the ball. Standing flat footed on their own try line, not chasing kicks or pressuring kickers, or bothering to compete. Simply not counting numbers or marking up in D. Not getting up off the ground to marker, not getting in to dummy half. Running near the sideline in the wet. The list goes on.
None of these things are difficult or require coaching at this level, yet if we did these things each week (which is the least you would expect from professional players) I bet we would win more than half of our games, even without anything else having to change.

Hells bells, this post sums up everything I've been watching, week after week.
And the question I keep asking myself (week after week) is why isn't it being fixed?
There has to be change.
Simple.

AGREE ENTIRELY. This is a simple game for simple men.Yet we can't get improvement week in week out.
We need to get back to basics with this group of players. Unfortunately Maguire can't do the job and needs to be replaced by someone who can.
