An NRL women's comp ??

Just flicking through the channels before and I noticed an AFL womens game between Melbourne and Brisbane

I see next season they will have either 8-10 team AFL comp and have so far had 13 submissions for teams

Does anyone ever see a 16 team NRL women's comp in their lifetime ??

You watch the SOO and International game and they are played at a very high level and it gives me some hope

Biggest problem I see is the amount of girls who can't play after the age of 13 because they can play with the boys anymore and there are a lack of teams or comps they can then join beyond that

Thoughts ??

I wouldn't say they are played at a very high level at all.
The women's game is all attack with occasional defence.

Was at the SOO ladies game last year at Townsville Stryker

The noise from the hits was immense , even more intense than the NRL game between the Sharks and Cowboys that followed

In my opinion the defence was more impressive than the attack

It's just another chance for the AFL to ruin other sports by poaching athletes to feed their never satisfied egos. They've artificially created something there was no demand for at that level and raided other sports in an Olympic year to stock it.

How many future Olympians have NRL poached over the years Yoss ??

Idris was a champion discus /shot putter from memory and how many 18 year sprinters have we pinched over years , probably hundreds

Koroibete would have probably represented Fiji by this stage at either the Commonwealth Games or as an Olympian

Happy the AFL have taken a heap of guys who'd otherwise be jn the national volleyball or basketball teams. They actively seek them out. Stop defending them. They're a colossal giant who won't stop until they enslave humanity.

Anyway to answer your question, very few. Poach being the key word. Idris was a junior league player who did little As on the side. None of those sprinters were recruited out of athletics having never played league before. The closest was Darren Clarke but he wanted to quit athletics because his opponents were drugged up.

Yeah well that must have been an exception although there's no way on earth the hits were more intense than the NRL boys LOL…

I sat up and watched the women's test after the recent ANZAC test and I gotta say it was about the level of open schoolboys. A women's league will draw less crowd than the U/20's do. Bad investment.
